I don't know why I'm surprised you're not a big Brand New fan but I am for some reason. When I was 15 I went straight from punk (a la Dead Kennedys and Crass) to stupid hipster bullshit (a la Malkmus & the Jicks and Sonic Youth), and ended up skipping the mid-00s "alternative rock"/emo boom in general. The only album of theirs I ever gave a shot was The Devil And God Are Raging Inside Me and that was waaaay later, and it never really clicked. Ah, this makes sense. I did emo at that age instead of punk.

Waste of inflatables, unfortunately. There just wasn't any dancey daytime music that last day. Brand New was definitely great though! If I had known you were looking for a dancey daytime set I would have convinced you to save em all for Yelle because that would have been super awesome.

I missed Yelle and I'm super upset about it.

The more I look at the lineup and the more I let my post sasquatch depression set in, the more stoked I am for Bumbershoot. I think I need it to close out my summer haha.

I'm most excited for the comedy lineup to come out so I can see what I'll be missing all these good bands for. Wait, what if because the lineup this year is good, the comedy lineup is bad to compensate?!

I was gifted a 3 day pass this weekend for Bumbershoot. If I would have purchased a 3 day pass I would have been very disappointed. The rain/lightning storm on Saturday made my group not want to go back in later (which was Flying Lotus), the organization was done by AEG and therefore way more strict and it was shit for overlaps/trying to catch a lot of music. I only saw 4 shows on Sunday. Tried to run around a lot of Monday to get more out of the day but was too exhausted towards the end.
All that bitching aside, I did see some badass shows. The only thing I saw on Saturday was Babes In Toyland. Those chicks are fucking rad. Two of them looked like they were in their late 50s or early 60s. The third was not an original member. I hadn't heard of them but the Melvins recommended them in The Stranger. Loved it until the lightning forced the stage to close. On Sunday I saw Melvins at Memorial Stadium. That was my daughter's first show! Granted she had noise cancelling headphones on, is 5 months old and slept through most of it. After that we saw Cave Singers, Constant Lovers and Faith No More. The new Constant Lovers songs are killer and Joel plays a wicked sax. On Monday I saw a bunch of random shit early on. Something called Butter and Bread. Another thing called The Moth and The Flame. Then I stumbled on a band called The Bots. They were a noisy rock duo that I actually enjoyed. Funked out with a band called The Floozies. Then went into Key Arena for Emancipator and Peaches. Baby was not having the lights so we let early. Built To Spill closed out the Mural Stage and then Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals were my last show. Pretty good overall for shows but not for the price of those tickets. That festival needs to check itself and get back to being something that a lot of people are excited about.

We were at so many of the same sets! Bummer we never ran into each other. On the contrary to your overall experience, this was my favorite Bumbershoot yet, and I was mostly pleased with the organization. When the schedule came out I wasn't too impressed with the lineup, but I ended up seeing some really great stuff over the weekend. Already excited for next year!
