Austin Psych Fest (now called LEVITATION) has announced its lineup. It now runs May 8-10. Lineup includes: The Flaming Lips Tame Impala The Jesus and Mary Chain Spiritualized Primal Scream The Black Angels Thee Oh Sees Mac DeMarco Melody's Echo Chamber Lightning Bolt A Place to Bury Strangers The Sword Earth Fuzz (Ty Segall & Friends) The Soft Moon Metz White Fence and a lot more smaller bands. Judging by the dates and location I'd say we're sure to get at least a couple of these! Oooh, if The Sword ends up being "the heavy band" next year I will be pleased as punch. Sadly, I think they are one of the least likely candidates on that list, but I would really be ok with that whole lineup. Just the thought/mention of The Sword at Sasquatch has brought me out of board hibernation. Yes please! I would very much like this to happen.

Fuck yeah Lightning Bolt are playing shows again. If I could choose any band on that list to play Sasquatch, it would be Lightning Bolt.

Hopefully the positive reception of Deafheaven last year paves the way for more "heavy" acts at Sasquatch.

But Snacks would choose the Flaming Lips, and that's all that really matters, right? True... I wish I could say that I'm actually the one that books the lineup but sadly, that's not the case. So yeah my choices don't really matter.

Lightning Bolt would blow honey bucket doors down, but I think I'd take Thee Oh Sees from that list because I want all of my friends to see Thee Oh Sees, and Lightning Bolt on a stage is uncomfortable for everyone.

If we get two off that list I'll take Fuzz.

Or The Jesus and Mary Chain. Austin Psych Fest's lineup has them officially billed as "The Jesus and Mary Chain performing Psychocandy". I say "Yes, please,"

Why not Tame Impala? Every time I've seen them, they'be been amazing, and have gotten better with each show as time has passed. I saw them last month when they did their brief US tour, and the show was incredible with awesome visuals. I think it would actually make sense for them to play Squatch given the move to the Yeti stage a couple years back, which probably made a lot of people miss out on their (awesome) set. It would be similar to when the National had issues and were moved to the Yeti stage in 2008, and they came back and played the main stage in 2010.

New Purity Ring track just dropped tonight, looks like they're gearing up for a new album in early 2015. They were great when I saw them in YYC in 2012 and 2013, I'd love to see them at Sasquatch. They played the festival in... 2012?

Kitty, Daisy, & Lewis are touring North America in early April but completely skip the PNW ... That seems rampant enough to me.
