I had a delicious bowl of ramen for breakfast/lunch and, even though that was only 3 hours ago, now I'm eating a huge plate of chilli con carne salad 'cause it's one of the better things my work makes for dinner and if I don't eat it now I'll miss out. I'm gonna be sooo full for the next 5 hours, thank god I work in a back office and can unbutton my pants.

So full disclosure: my office supplies breakfast and lunch for us. Today there was going to be Indian food for lunch, which I'm not a very big fan of, so my plan was to walk across the street and get a slice of pizza. I ended up taking my lunch later than expected, and just before I left I got an email saying "Sorry to those of you who didn't get enough food for lunch today! For those who didn't get enough, we are ORDERING PIZZA!"
Moral of the story: take your lunch break later than you're supposed to and you might just earn free pizza.

Just FYI, Nick, I'm guessing I'd eat the burger pictured in the photo with a shelf-life of up to probably 8 days. That should make the window for potential transport pretty wide. Isn't this why microwaves were invented?

Amazon did this for other people in our office all the time. We would hover like ravenous vultures over the leftovers

If my work bought me lunch every day I would be a fucking millionaire.

No but really, just randomly get a job with a startup that happens to be doing really well. I had no idea what I was getting into but this job is excellent.

I save a lot on groceries, I think, but sometimes that means I have absolutely no food in the house for weeks and end up eating out way too much when I'm not at work.

I know this all too well, having spent 10+ years in the restaurant industry. I was thinking more of free food that I neither cooked nor served to others. An office job to which meals are delivered twice a day? Free food without having to deal with the general public? That sounds pretty close to paradise to me.

It's especially good when the menu on an average day looks like this! (I'll stop boasting now)

Who cares if that is in Portland (I do not think so) because the best burger I have eaten here was from Slow Bar. The Slow Burger. For a mere 10 dollars you get 1/2lb. Painted Hills natural beef, Gruyere, onion rings, butter lettuce, pickle relish, garlic aioli. Get it with the salad because the delicious vinaigrette cuts through the richness of the burger. The bar is pretty douchey but damn if that is not the most delicious burg. I ate a very similar concoction tonight. It's all about squishing that shit until it is almost flat, and then cutting it in half.

Yeah, well, I just ate half of a two day old baguette and some a chunk of cheddar (hanker for a hunka).
But, if I go to Seattle this weekend (fingers crossed) I will eat at Tub's. If you are going to be in Seattle I would highly recommend you eat there as well. Best subs.
