I had to miss the end of her set to head over to Azari & III. They weren't playing a live set like I expected, they instead opted for the ridiculously funky dj set. It was so much fun in there, it's a shame so many folks had to skip them for Grimes or Mumford. One of the best dance parties of the weekend in my opinion! I was there for the first half or so of their set and loved it. Plus, I sat at the top of the hill for the Mumfords so I wouldn't have as long of a walk to Primus. Their bass totally bled all over the Mumson quiet stuff, so in my head I pretended Azari & III were doing remixes that only I could hear.

I went to them after Grimes and it was awesome. I was confused by the dj too and was hoping for something more but once I started partying it did not matter because it was so good.

1. Sigur Ros - Just incredible. One of the most intense and emotional shows I have ever seen. So powerful. I sat on the hill and bawled as my brain melted. What an experience.
2. Holy Ghost - Amazing boarder dance party. Rode the turtle. 3. Macklemore - What a blast. Dude needs to stop talking though. 4. Postal Service - Jenny Lewis! 5. Youth Lagoon 6. CHVRCHES 7. Capital Cities - Power move opening with "Nothing Compares 2 U" 8. The XX 9. Edward Sharpe 10. Father John Misty
Disappointments: Grimes, watching Twin Shadow sound check for 45 minutes (fucking Bigfoot), all of the comedy I saw was terrible, Elvis Costello was pretty lame, Azeala Banks bailing....

Those Damned Blue Collar Tweekers just came up as I was listening to some music, and I started having visions...

Those Damned Blue Collar Tweekers just came up as I was listening to some music, and I started having visions... As soon as Ler hit that noise at the beginning and I realized they were opening with that song, I pretty much flipped my shit.

Hate to say it, but Elvis Costello WAS indeed pretty fucking lame... Eh. I wouldn't say it was lame. Just wasn't as good as the other big sets of the weekend.

Hate to say it, but Elvis Costello WAS indeed pretty fucking lame... This makes me feel even better about my decision to leave him to watch Killer Mike, even though Mike's set was so fantastic that Costello would have needed to do some serious next level shit to make me regret it.

Now that I've had some time to process...
1. PRIMUS 3D!!!!! (both the actual show and the 30 minutes beforehand I spent rocking out on the ground only to discover when I stood up they weren't on stage yet) 2. Father John Misty 3. Holy Ghost 4. Imagine Dragons <--- this one shocks me the most with how much I loved it 5. Devendra Banhart 6. Cake 7. the 10 minutes I spent dancing to Laidback Luke 8. Elvis Costello (if the crowd had been as into it as me he would have been waaaay higher on the list) 9. Grimes 10. The Postal Service, Arctic Monkeys, Surfer Blood, Built to Spill, Alt-J, Vampire Weekend

The stage jams they were playing pre-Primus were so great.

Hate to say it, but Elvis Costello WAS indeed pretty fucking lame... Your post is indeed pretty fucking lame. Zach Hill not showing up for Death Grips was fucking lame. Empire of the Sun pretending to sing and play instruments was fucking lame. The six dollar corn dog I ate before the Elvis show was fucking lame. Half the Elvis crowd talking about how excited they are for the Mumfords was fucking lame. Elvis isn't a terribly exciting showman, but he was far from fucking lame.

I was so pleased with the crowd appreciation for the heavy rock sets of the weekend. Red Fang looked a little shocked when the crowd was chanting for them before they even started playing. I don’t think they were expecting the Sasquatch crowd to embrace them. Their set fucking rocked. Torche was blistering. The vocals were a bit low but it was still an incredible set. I hope Snacks took note of the crowd love and continues to bring in more rock bands like them. Just saw that zacks replied to a tweet (possibly yours) about this exact topic. He did notice and replied "No going back now." I really like the way that sounds for future lineups.

By the way, regarding your comments on Akron/Family...that set was heavy as fuck. I loved that show and it was definitely in my top 5 of the weekend. I am trying to narrow it down to a top 5 but that is proving difficult.

They should just have wolf bands, whale bands and Deerhunter, Animal Collective, Deadmau5 and Modest Mouse headline in 2014...
Then every day will be animal day...
