pooping a thread that hasn't been active in 1yr rather than starting a new one.
My group is planning to stay at Wildhorse this year. Aside from me, this is everyone's first Sasquatch, and the consensus is that $40/person is worth it just for the shuttle. Also, nobody in the group is pregnant (that I know of).
I do have a few questions though: 1) is there a general store at Wildhorse? Or would the smart move be to head in to town if supplies are needed? 2) How rough is the walk to/from General camping if we wanted to experience the madness for one night 3) Is the nightlife basically just a smaller, more organized version of District 9?
**EDIT** I realize that pooping a thread asking about 19-21yr olds camping at Wildhorse makes me look like a creep.

Welcome back Alex. There is no General Store at Wildhorse, but it's easy to get your car in and out. The "nightlife" is almost non-existent at Wildhorse, which is why I stay there. It's a relaxed and fun environment during the day, but quiet at night. No 3am raves or Congo lines parading through your shit.

Hey Blacksmile!
That's good to know. The convenience of that overpriced store in General was pretty nice, but I suspect only because we were camped REALLY close to it when I was last there.
I assume people still party a bit right after the show ends for the night though, right?

No 3am raves or Congo lines parading through your shit. The couple times I've been there, there was quite a bit of partying, but not quite extreme as the party trains/parades or whatever they call them. I haven't been there for Sasquatch, but was there for Soundgarden and Rush, which you think would have less of a party crowd. Also both times they asked if we wanted to be in the front close to everything, or in the back where the party is.

Wildhorse does have good food, cheap ice, and free coffee in the morning. One of the perks of Wildhorse is not having to pack as much stuff, if you're tight on space. You can wake up and grab some hot coffee and breakfast for less than $10. Their website has quite a bit of info.

The atmosphere is certainly more relaxed but it's not like everyone just goes to sleep right after the show. It's not the madhouse that the main campground is but there is plenty going on.

Yeah I've read through the website. Space isn't really an issue at all. I do enjoy coffee and not having to cook breakfast if we're a little hurtin' one morning.
Cbats, that's the info I was looking for.

I did the stumble back from District 9 twice and it's not as bad as it looks. It took about 20-30 minutes once I left the campground I think, and is more fun with friends than solo.
Everybody kind of has their own little parties with their group, but it's generally pretty quiet after all the shows are over. We got a talking to last year after we were pretty loud the first night (and were caught peeing in between cars) but had no problems after that, and that's with a 'nater and a megatron in the group.
Just fer yer info, the shuttle doesn't drop you right in front, it will drop you kind of at the edge of the parking lot.

A lot more reasonable if we're not hiking between General and the venue 2x/day too. Is the honeybucket situation not great?

I think that's all the Wildhorse questions I have for now. Only 88 days!!!
*EDIT* That was a lie. I'm curious about the wind situation at Wildhorse. I assume it's not quite as bad as district 9 simply because there are actual trees around the property. I'll be staking down my tent HEAVILY anyway, but I'm mostly asking because I think I might pick up a canopy. Should I just do it and live with taking it down pre-show and putting it back up after?

I would imagine the wind situation is a little bit better but it's still a crapshoot. It's usually not a problem but if it's one of those years where it gets really windy...

I'll err on the side of caution. Wouldn't want to be responsible for a canopy leg flying through someone's car window.

It is my goal this year to be like a 70's-80's film, and pilot a canoe over to Camp Wildhorse and do a legit panty raid against those preppie kids across the lake.
Are you ready for the summer? Are you ready for the sunshine? Are you ready for the birds and bees, the apple trees, and a whole lot of fooling around?

When I grow up I wanna be Ernest.
And Ernest Scared Stupid still scares the shit out of me. And is the only reason I hate brusselsprouts.
