I think I just dislike them so much as people that I can never enjoy their music.

This is their best album since the first one, IMO. They did a bunch of things that give me boners, like opening and closing the album with extended sample manipulation complete with reverse effects, short-but-sweet track intros, and fast-slow tempo changes (the best kind of tempo changes). Not to mention I'm starting to understand why people like James Murphy so much; Dude really beefed it the fuck up.
Also, thick bass.
Also also, see them live when they play at Sasquatch. I wasn't a fan until they did the best possible job anyone could do opening for Bjork.

You're just grumpy, don't worry. Have a warm glass of milk gramma, and then go to sleep. There's no fire at the arcade, everything is ok.

Swans - Not Here/Not Now
Best thing I've read on Poochfunk in awhile: "So if you’re wondering if you need another version of “The Seer”, the answer is: hell yes."

I have no fucking clue what I was talking about, I was just stoned and I thought it sounded funny. I still think it sounds funny. I haven't heard Reflektor, and if I ever do it will certainly be by accident -- that much was true. But I can tell you now that I'll hate it more than any previous Arcade Fire album, based on the material from the record that I have heard. That shit's embarrassing, dudes. Sasquatch 2014 schedule is out. Arcade Fire VS Popular Button Pusher. Which one do you choose?

You know automatically hating something you've never tried lowers the validity of your opinions on what you have tried. That's some nick shit right there.

Whatever, I saw them play two of the songs from Reflektor and they nearly caused me to smash Nadine's television.

Reflektor is fucking terrible. Arcade Fire is fucking terrible. I'm forever thankful for the meltdown I had during their Coachella set in 2011, because it jaded the fuck out of me and now I don't have to waste my hearing on them anymore.

It's strange that Arcade Fire is the band that we're all so divided on. I love Arcade Fire. I think Reflektor is great. I don't get the hate.

I have always hated Arcade Fire. That has always been based on repeated, meticulous listens to their records. One after the next. Having heard some but not all of the new record is more than enough for me to have formulated the perfectly functional opinion that yup, I still hate Arcade Fire is enough for me. Based on that, please don't try to take away my right to make inflammatory remarks about them because it's basically all I've got left around here. Especially when the new version of Arcade Fire is essentially the same as the old one with a bunch of crappy white-boy funk shoehorned into the margins. That's basically what of Montreal did when they became intolerable, and it certainly didn't do anything for me then.
