Im not gonna run my ass off to get a good spot watching Kanye or Prince. Sasquatch is not set up in a way that you have to run to get a good spot for a headliner. The main stage is huge and there is tons of room. Even down in the pit if you are along the back there is room. Nobody said that they only watch the headliners but of course we care who they are. Additionally, Kanye and Prince have never been there but you would be a fool to miss them. It seems like you see a band more for your own reputation than because you want to see them. Im just saying I wont miss a smaller act that I wouldn't usually get a chance to see, to see Kanye. If I wanted to see Kanye I would pay $100 to see him when he was in town. But if there was nothing else on then yes I would see his show. And I am only defending the reputation you're giving me for liking music that aother people have not heard of. And I also never said that I don't listen to mainstream music. I stated that I don't listen to song because it is mainstream, I listen to it because I like it. If someone shows me a song and I like it, I'll listen to it, I'm not going pretend I like it when I don't, just because everyone says it's super awesome. Does it make me a hipster to like the music I enjoy listening to?

But I would see the end/beginning of Princes set, if someone else was playing at the same time. Like how I missed half of Tenacious D last year to see SBTRKT, which was a bad choice, but there are obviously going to be crossovers, and choices need to be made.

Kanye's shows are abysmal. Just put his CDs in and push play. At least Jay Z had a live band to give some sort of character to his performance. Plus all these bands with lights have uninteresting music so they have to cover it with lights, i.e. The Killers, Muse, The Black Keys, etc. I mean our headliners from 2012 were all subs at other festivals, but I enjoyed having such a strong undercard that it didn't matter. Plus I'd rather see Jack White or Massive Attack headline so they have longer to play than watch Kings of Leon or something unremarkable.

Does it make me a hipster to like the music I enjoy listening to? Hey, bud. I don't think anyone is calling you a hipster for "liking the music you enjoy listening to". I think it is because the pretentious manner you have expressed your opinions on music in general. All of the regulars on this board are music lovers and don't necessarily like everything the play on they radio but you will never see any of them write that a reason for not liking an artist is because they are too mainstream. You are talking with people that generally know what they are talking about in terms of music. Also, if you are working on the assumption that it is more likely to be able to see Prince then Com Truise multiple times, then I'd have to say you are mistaken.

I think the new guy just needs to accept that he's the definition of a hipster. I wanna see his top 10 albums of all time first, we gotta be sure. I can tell you that my #1 is Dark Side Of The Moon

I enjoyed the shit out of that Watch the Throne show, but I'd imagine that it would have been a lot worse if it weren't for all of the flashing lights and Kanye's little mini freakout.

See Prince at a festival set and spend $20 on the next Com Truise tour don't go to Com Truise ever, or skip Prince and spend $150 to see him at the fucking Tacoma Dome (or wherever)? Yeah, I'll take the festival set every time.
