That's just not true though... Spiritualized played up against BECK if I remember correctly and I was bummed I missed 'em. Pavement played to a huge crowd. Bob Mould... needs Hüsker Dü.

Pavement played to a huge crowd. I think you went to a different Sasquatch than I did. The one I was at saw 75% of the crowd on the hill leave immediately after LCD Soundsystem was done, and then sat and watched Malkmus throw a gigantic hissy fit because nobody stuck around to watch him play. If you recall, Pavement was announced as a headliner for Sasquatch 2010 in November of 2009. Ticket sales were so dismal based on that information that they were relegated to sub-headliners -- which, I speculate, is why we got the MIGHTY FUCKING WEEN. As a replacement.

MBV is significantly lesser-known, significantly less respected and significantly less user-friendly than Pavement. They will not be headlining Sasquatch.

I was down on the floor so I must have missed that but I definitely don't recall people staying around for the "MIGHTY FUCKING WEEN" but maybe that's because I left...

also, side note, the d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y/defiantly thing is super annoying.

All I'm trying to say is that I think a lot of people (myself included) would be really excited to see My Bloody Valentine at the Gorge and at Sasquatch.

I was down on the floor so I must have missed that but I defiantly don't recall people staying around for the "MIGHTY FUCKING WEEN" but maybe that's because I left... Trust me, it happened. It was hilarious. And Sasquatch is almost always half-empty by the time the last headliner plays. also, side note, the d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y/defiantly thing is super annoying. Try making fewer declarative statements and it'll probably get better. In the meantime, let the pros determine what is annoying:

Maybe I'm missing something? Either vocabulary or reading comprehension. Remains to be seen.

I was referring to the avatar post. I also can't believe I forgot why I was content with lurking on this board instead of participating...

Reading comprehension it is, then.
If you really lurked this board, you would certainly know that simply saying 'disregard my post count' doesn't exempt you from noob hazing. All in good fun, you asexual unibrowed pottery class student you.

Haha sounds like you guys had a great time at the Deacon show though. Any chance he could be rampantly speculated about? I don't know how often he tours. The only time I saw him was at Bumbershoot and I had no idea who he was when we saw him. Fun times though and that seems like an act right up Sasquatch's alley I honestly don't think he is right for a large festival. Part of the whole thing is this group being led by him and feeling the power of the collective and whatnot. You can't really get that level of intimacy at a large festival. When you are supposed to point to the person who us nit participating in the beginning, there are going to be a couple thousand up on the hill. I saw him in a tent at bonnaroo and it was amazing. I agree he wouldn't work on the main stage, but throw him in the nanner shack and people would be going nuts.

And Sasquatch is almost always half-empty by the time the last headliner plays. 2009-20011 (and probably before that, but I wasn't there) I agree, but did this happen last year? I'm thinking having 2 of the biggest names on the poster play the final 2 mainstage spots kept most people around, but I really have no frame of reference since I was on the floor from the end of Silversun Pickups to the end of Beck. Anyone on the hill know if it was as empty as previous years at the end of the fest? And just to throw my support behind the new guy I think MBV could fit the Ben Harper/Ween/Wilco headliner spot in the sense lots people don't care about them and will therefor leave early, but the ones who do care about them get to see a full set at one of the best venues in the world.

They would fit that mold way better than Ween Incorrect.
