French rap is awesome, and for some great country instrumental listen to Vince Gil play, he is a great guitar player.

Dude, French rap is rad. I got some on a tape once from a guy who lived with us as a foreign exchange student.

There is french gangsta rap but it pretty much mimics american...the regular french rap is quite diferent and very cool...check out da Ocktopuss and MC Solar, etc. or the sound track from District B13.

If you've been in college you've heard of MC Solar and you think you're cool for owning a French rap album.

An amazing french movie I would recommend to watch that deals with with Paris project culture (which heavily mimics American culture) would be La Haine. Amazing movie (plus it has Vincent Cassell!!!). EDIT: "More Bounce to the Ounce" by Zapp and Roger is such a bomb ass tune, I almost throw it on every mix CD I make for people. Shit's from 1980!

You do realize that there is rap music that isn't 'gangster rap', right? Oh yes. RA Scion AKA Common Market, Blue Scholars, Atmosphere, etc. I love some really good hip hop with actual meaning. Its just the rap that's all about killing and what not that I don't like.

Easily some of the most disturbing lyrics I've ever heard in that song.

Has anybody ever given Hank III's country music a listen? He sticks to the old country sound when he makes country music.

Nice to see some of y'all sticking up for country...
^YES
I just listened to Hank III "Crazed Country Rebel"...love that song and the props to Montanans (Hank Jr. has a place along the upper Big Hole; love SW Montana!) I was going to suggest Robert Earl Keen or Steve Earle. Hayes Carll if you like it a little more underground. Any of the highwaymen... Jim Lauderdale plays some great bluegrass with all strings highlighted.

Sorry HG, but I'm not so sure about Clem...can you really be metro east coast kids and make country? I'd love if you could point me in the direction of some steel guitar, fiddle, and/or banjo they do. Seems like they're more folk. There is a fine line I guess...Townes Van Zandt Also wanted to point out not to listen to danl46...Miranda Lambert is almost as bad as her husband.
