Prydz, Benassi and Fedde are all EDM artists worth a couple minutes of your time. I've been waiting to see Prydz forever and he is one of the acts I am most excited about it. Benassi has two super-duper huge songs "Satisfaction" and "Cinema", plus a ton of great stuff. Fedde was one of my favorite Sahara artist in 2011 and I'm pumped to see him again, although he hasn't really done a heck of a lot in two years.
Pusha T is worth a couple minutes of your time, especially if he is doing a mid-afternoon set with not much else going on. He used to be in the awesome group Clipse and has a pretty decent solo thing going running around with Kanye.
2Chainz is worth checking out for the spectacle.

Don't waste your time on Bingo Players. Saw them last year in Edmonton with Souly, very forgettable house DJs. See someone else instead.

It was 80+ up here in the bay today, meaning it's blistering in the desert. But Coachella is a long ways away, it could cool down.

Descendents (coming up next) This is by far my favorite band on the Coachella lineup. Like Cbats said, they are legendary, and probably the most talented punk rock band on Earth when you compare their insane speed and tight musicianship. They rarely play outside of California; I have been a fan for half of my life and still haven't had the opportunity to see them. EDIT: I just noticed that Cbats called them "semi-legendary". That's bullshit. They are FUCKING legendary.

EDIT: I just noticed that Cbats called them "semi-legendary". That's bullshit. They are FUCKING legendary. I wouldn't really argue with you, I just didn't want to call Sparks legendary and didn't feel like separating them into different sentences. They are also stuck with the same problem a lot of early emo bands have which is that their legacy is so much worse than their actual output. Descendants put out some great albums but those albums directly led to Blink 182's popularity so...

We shouldn't talk about that. We should, however, talk about how they are directly responsible for the creation and popularity of NOFX, which wonk can dig.

I knew a lot about the Decendents, but I had never listened to them before yesterday. I love old punk bands, so I won't be missing this show. I always feel so uncultured when I'm listening to old punk or reggae, and I recognize a song because Sublime covered it ("Hope" on Milo Goes To College).
I know Clipse well, I've even seen them a couple times. I guess I didn't know them well enough to know Pusha T was the name of one of the dudes. Thanks for the suggestions.

wonk is sleeping in as late as possible at his six star Palm Springs resort on Thursday. What a chump. I just bought my flight a couple days ago. I haven't even looked into rental cars or hotels yet. Travel logistics are a giant weakness. Recall a good friend of mine lives near Indio, which is why I didn't show up until Friday morning last year. I got so fucking wasted Thursday night last year, I was dragging the entire festival because of it. The only time I saw empty was Friday around noon when he woke me up passed out at the Sheepdogs. I may err on the side of survival this year.
