My buddy and I are looking for a ride down from Van on Friday morning. We're both cool amazing people, in our mid twenties, a lot of fun to be around. I'm actually originally from Australia, but have lived here a few years now. I went to Sasquatch last year. We're good for fuel money and amazing company on the way. Also need a ride back, preferably Tuesday morning. Get your ride on!

Has anyone else noticed how many Australians use this board to look for a rideshare? And it's not even usually people flying in from Australia, it's usually people FROM Australia now living in Canada or the States.
Seriously, just about every one of these threads contains the line "I'm originally from Australia". I'm starting to think it's a lie perpetrated by people given to faking an Australian accent -- one of the easier accents to fake -- in the hopes of luring someone in by virtue of the sexiness of a (fake) Australian accent.

I am such a sucker for that accent. I actually had one when I was five!

My neighbors last year were Australians living in BC.

There are a ridiculous number of people that come here from Australia. They all work at the local ski hills. All of them. That's not a stereotype, it's fact.

I worked at Whistler for the Olympics and then got the hell out of there. I've lived in Van since then, and I don't have any Australian friends here anymore. I might even be considered assimilated if I could only cast away the accent!

Haha, I'm not ragging on you. I've never met an Australian I didn't like.

Why the fuck would you try to LOSE an Australian accent? Especially in favor of a Canadian accent? That's money in the bank, dude.

We're going to see more Australian flags than Canadian flags this year, aren't we. Australia has a flag, right...?

Last year I lost my smartphone at near the Banana Shack. A month later, I got a call from an Australian living in Vancouver asking if I had lost my phone. He shipped it to me no charge and no worries. Love me some Aussie.
