If you like it because it's danceable, that's totally fine! I'm not trying to tell you that you're stupid or anything, I just wanted to know your opinion. I personally just don't like it and don't get it.
I don't understand why it's okay to be judgmental of rock/indie/pop/folk/everything else but it's not okay to be judgmental of EDM, or why being critical of EDM is considered not cool. Is it because EDM is just "for fun"? I know some of you guys just want to take pills, drink, and get down. That's fine with me! There's no issue here with that. But if that's the case, just say you want to hear a 4/4 beat with some bass drops and get fucked up! Own it!

People around here judge the fuck out of EDM. Are you blind? It's the most hated genre of music on this board.

Then there is bad mainstream club-ready EDM that I don't like. In general, I go for headier EDM, stuff that's a little more challenging and not designed to pump fists at, but I really like most of Felix Cartal's stuff I've heard. Now I know almost nothing about the music, particularly compared to most people here, and I can tell you that for the most part it's totally okay to hate on any EDM around here. In fact you can hate on Felix Cartal and that's fine too. I was just saying, I like that shit.

I agree that it's definitely "mainstream" and "club-ready", good descriptors. I have some really guilty pleasures in EDM too, though for the most part I'm not a big fan of the large genre of music EDM encompasses. I know Felix Cartal is from Vancouver and from what I've heard the Canadians go apeshit for their own at Sasquatch, so I'm imagining his set will be wild either way. Have fun!

I definitely want to go in the dance tent at least once at night, but I don't know if I have anything to see in there...

Oh is he, I didn't even know that. I'm not Canadian so that's not the connection, but I'm glad to know there will be some Canadians at his set as well as myself.

I see you're from the East Bay, I'm originally from the bay as well. I think FC is from Vancouver so if everything I hear about the Canadians at Sasquatch is true you'll be in for a good time.

Alright, it's the night before I head west so this should be roughly accurate.
1. Bon Iver I'm gonna cry, y'all.
2. St. Vincent Gets to be ahead of Jack White only because every time I listen to anything from Strange Mercy I get excited about how it's gonna sound live.
3. Jack White yeop
4. Tenacious D I have intentionally avoided the new album. The material will be fresh! I am sure the album with a penis on it is gonna make me forget all about Dan Haroh fuck i just remembered it nooooo i'm sad now
5. Yellow Ostrich About damn time I've seen these guys. Not higher because I've got tickets for 'em later in case something goes wrong or something??
6. The Joy Formidable Higher than several bands I haven't seen already. Yeah. You get excited too.
7. Beirut Would be much lower but I have missed them (I think) ten times since 2008. Lemme count. Sasquatch 2008, Bonnaroo last year, like every time they've been to New York, twice in Pittsburgh... yeah. Plus I'll be in the pit gettin' ready to cry at Bon Iver. Hit me up my number is
8. Beck Lower than where he should be only because I have no idea what to expect and not a strong enough grasp on his material to ensure I won't be BORED!!
9. Ted Leo I'M NEW JERSEY
10. Santigold The excitement has nothing to do with the artist.
others Grouplove Hey Marseilles Polica Alabama Shakes Dale Earnhardt Jr Jr
