No zipper on a tent has ever stopped me! :chews through tent: For some reason I remember you physically fighting with a tent last year.

Drylon got his warm clothes stolen once, which was really crazy. Who does that? It is really unfortunate that there is shit like that going down at Sasquatch. But for the most part I think if you lock up any valuables you should be good. Or, be like us and have a broken zipper on your tent so it is hard to open. That was 2012 if I remember correctly and wasn't that around the same time burrito found two gals tripping in his sleeping bag?

Two girls. One bag. And it was completely zipped up. I can barely do that by myself.

One night in 2011 I left the venue early and was alone at my campsite for a good 5 or so car radius and I saw a group of 3 people wandering car-to-car pointing flashlights into the windows. They had whistle codes it sounded like to communicate with each other. It was sketchy - but they seemed to be seeking cars that had obvious expensives inside and/or unlocked doors. I think needing a wristband to get into the campground has helped this issue a bit.

When people attend Sasquatch for the first time, are those who have been there once already always so condescending to newbies? Or is this the nature of the people who are active online months before? It is actually so rude, I am shocked! I definitely will not be using this board anymore knowing that at some point the newbies will be shamed for their questions. Kind of the opposite of what a music festival is all about.
Very uncool! I am really hoping this isn't the vibe when I get there.

I don't know anyone on this board who is rude to people in real life without the other people doing something to instigate it.

I think this is the way it works here too. And I'm not afraid to ask really stupid questions, and really stupid questions seem to be well received around here in a rude way.

Since I'm the resident "I got robbed" guy around here I mid as well throw in my 2 cents.
Sometimes you just get shit luck. My backpack and my girlfriends backpack got taken out of our tents around 4am Thursday (or technically Friday I guess). My dumb ass left money in my bag, which is totally my fault and I know it. Other than that, there wasn't really anything of value in there. Some clothes, sunscreen, a car charger for my phone... nothing I would consider locking up in the future. They took the bags, ran a few rows down and literally ripped them apart (there were pieces of the backpack around) and basically only took the bag and the money. We were lucky as we got most of our shit back, but if they decided to run 10 more rows down there's a good chance we never would have found anything.
As if that's not bad enough the same people went into our neighbours tent trailer, while they were fucking sleeping in it, and picked through makeup bags, a wallet that had nothing in it and whatever else they could find. They didn't take anything as it seems they were only looking for money. They even found one of their wristbands that had a broken pin and just threw it on the ground.
The only piece of advice I can offer is once your tent is set up, take all your shit out of your bag so it isn't an easy snatch and grab situation. And like others have said, don't bring anything you aren't willing to lose.
I guess another piece of advice would be to keep an eye out for shady looking people. Meet the neighbours early, make a mutual agreement to keep an eye on each others shit. Obviously this isn't 100% as there will be times where your site is empty, but it can't hurt.
And if I saw people doing things like flashing lights into cars you can bet your ass I would go up to them all tough guy like and ask what the hell they are doing. There is no reason to not confront people doing things like that.

Everything daver said. Most theft is just a crime of opportunity - if something looks easy to take (so a perfectly packed bag just sitting in a tent), a thief will grab it. Make it harder on them and spread your shit around so they'd have to spend time looking for valuables. Also, never keep all your money in one spot so you won't lose it all in one fell swoop and don't bring anything you're not willing to lose. And know your neighbours so they'll question weird people going through your camp and you can do the same for them. Also know your neighbours 'cause they're probably really cool people who will be fun to shotgun with and they might have corn chips to share with you.

Don't leave your chips in obvious places. Thievery at Sasquatch is usually for one of the three Cs Chips, cash, and couches.

Anybody else jump on the lockers? This is my first time using lockers at a fest and I'm pretty excited, especially for Sasquatch since I won't have to carry a blanket around with me after I'm done doing some majah chillin at the main stage.

Yeah I just reserved two for me and 5 friends. Anybody have any idea where they'll be located? Probably over by the bathrooms between the Yeti and Honda stage?

I found out last summer that most of what I can get into a festival can fit into one of those cheap drawstring backpacks, so I decided to pass on the lockers. The only thing I ever worry about is sunglasses. I even tried buying cheap ones, and they can broken in a day. I already got around that by buying a hard case for sunglasses. I do worry about my little camera, but I think if I keep it in the case and wrap it in a shirt or something it'll be ok too.

All I need now is a slip with my info and I'll be golden. No need to constantly check pockets, carry cash, etc.
