Stamps I just saw your reply to my biased against hip hop remark (somehow I missed that). I wasnt saying it was actually rigged, I was just saying it was pretty unlucky that the 2 remaining hip hop acts ended up against each other.

Davers thank you for clarifying. it was pretty unfortunate. i like 2Pac, it's unlucky he kept coming up against somebody i (and many other people) liked more.
also, based on the consistency of everybody's votes i think it's safe to say Radiohead pretty much have this thing locked up. Unless Beck can pull off the upset in the finals, this tournament was decided the moment cbats noticed they were omitted from the original list.

I think it'll get interesting. Let's not forget that Radiohead's 1990's output includes: Pablo Honey, The Bends, Okay Computer, and various B-sides and EPs. If Kid A were a 1999 album, I'd say it's a lock. But when we get closer to the final, I'm definitely going to be listing everyone's 90's output.

I cant believe I wasnt the one who noticed that. As soon as someone mentioned the idea of a 90s cup the first thought in my head was "spoiler alert: Radiohead wins".
It doesnt matter though, Weezer is going to pull off the upset, much to the chagrin of HG.

I don't know about that one. Weezer probably aren't even going to beat Smashing Pumpkins, let alone Radiohead.
Still... to me the 90s were Radiohead's finest era. The Bends and OK Computer are probably their two best albums. Pablo Honey isn't spectacular but it still holds up well. Additionally, 'You' and 'Stop Whispering' were two favorites of mine when that album originally came out.
That said, between 90s Radiohead vs 90s Beck... i'm still not sure who'd vote for. Odelay and Midnight Vultures are pretty damn flawless.
It's a tough one.

It's weird because I think it will be Radiohead vs Beck and I dont really consider either of them 90s artists. When I think 90s I think Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, gangsta rap, NIN, and Weezer to name a few. Beck and Radiohead just seem so timeless that pegging them into one decade feels odd.
And I know Weezer doesnt stand much of a chance, but ever since I saw them live I have fallen in love with them again. Seriously the Blue Album is one of the best 90s albums, like top 10 for me, maybe even top 5.

For the record, I fucking hate Nirvana, but there is no way on earth Beck was a more important 90's artist than they were. Are you people serious?

I thought we were just supposed to pick who we liked more. If the best band in the world was the most important one, then the Beatles would be the best... wait, bad example.
