I'm too lazy to find pictures of it but the setup of the Yeti stage in 2005 was comically bad. It's hard to imagine but the current set up is a huge improvement This was the Yeti in 2008. Yikes... Oh, and let's all "LOL" at the fact that The National played that stage. I believe they were supposed to be playing on the main stage but since they got held up at the border or whatever they ended up playing on the Yeti instead. I was actually pretty thrilled about it because we were really close and it was an amazing set at sunset. Rainn Wilson was the only issue at that point.

I don't get it; you can use the word 'vitrol' (but spell it wrong) and the apostrophe key but you can't capatlize a single letter. Is your shift key broken? dictionary.reference.com/browse/vitriolExcelent point. I didnt see the 'i' when I copied your word. Now I look like an asshat (as per usual). Still, capital letters are appreciated around these parts.

Pretty serious issue there.
I love thinking I was less than ten yards from like two dozen of you rascals for that show.

That National show was really really great. I missed Modest Mouse for it but I don't regret that at all.
The stage I was talking about in 2005 was so much worse though. It was incredibly tiny and just kind of set up along the sidewalk kind just past where the banana shack is now. I'll try and look for pictures later because it's hard to believe that they really thought this was a good idea

I remember that. The current yeti stage used to be the wookie/bigfoot stage. It is amazing how the festival has grown over the years.

I saw The Shins recently at the Doug Fir in Portland and to be honest it wasn't the great show that I was hoping it would be. I'm sure it will be better at the gorge, with a sunset, with friends. As ahmazing as it sounds to see them at the gorge at sunset, I caught them at DeLuna. On the beach. As the sun was setting. With $3 beers (As opposed to the $9 PBRs at Sasquatch) and I was focusing more on how overwhelming the concept of sticking my toes into the cold sand was and was underwhelmed by how unexciting the Shins were. I think we've covered this topic, but I just wanted to include my thoughts!

So there is definitely no validity or hope of the Chemical Brothers? Had to show a friend the visuals from their Coachella show last year and it's got me all hyped.
Did anyone else see the Black Angels in 2006? I swear there were less than 200 people watching and I was one of them. Loved it.

I don't remember the Black Angels set being that sparsely populated. Did they play right before Ghostland that year? I saw the Black Angels last year and it was a pretty good show although not a whole lot different from the set they played in 2006

No idea who they played before, but the stage was tiny, and it was midday/late afternoon the way I remember. Maybe 200 is a little low, but it wasn't a huge show by any means. I loved it nonetheless and special ordered their CD from a local music shop when I returned home.
