Good finds Stamper. I think we'll see Mazzy Star at just about every festival this year.

As much as I would love to see Jeff Mangum at Sasquatch, where could he fit in?

Probably on the Yeti, to be honest. I would imagine a set similar to J. Mascis' this year.

Probably on the Yeti, to be honest. I would imagine a set similar to J. Mascis' this year. This. Jeff Mangum solo seems to be a much bigger deal than J Mascis solo, though. And Neutral Milk Hotel (arguably) has a much bigger legacy than Dinosaur Jr. Also, I can't imagine Mangum ever appearing in the light of day...

i really don't want to turn this thread into a Jeff Mangum circle jerk. I'm not suggesting that he will be there, i'm just saying it's a possibility - and a late afternoon/closing Yeti stage performance seems to makes some sense.
as for Sigur Ros?... sure, that's also a possibility. one that i'm really hoping for, too!

I know you guys hate hearing this, since Jeff Magnum is such a rock star around here, but we're talking abut the Sasquatch crowd. 25,000 college kids wearing neon trucker hats that flock to Foster the People and Skrillex sets. Jeff Magnum is nothing to most of them.

This is the best news I've heard all month! I had no idea they were actually releasing a new album. Sigur Ros is the one band I would consider bailing on my friend's wedding for to see at Sasquatch.

Just for entertainment, I like replacing the word "Mangum" with "Buckley" in this discussion, because the liklihood of either being as Sasquatch is pretty much the same.

i'm throwing down the challenge: What's the craziest mosh pit you've even been in? - and it better be crazier than Lumpy's Vampire Weekend experience.
(this applies to everyone)

Honestly, the DFA pit at Sasquatch thrashed me more than any pit I've ever been in. Horrible way to kick off 4 days of music and partying.
Other than that, Lamb of God does the whole "wall of death" thing at their shows. Youtube it if you don't know what that is. It's the most insanely fucked up pit experience on earth. Think Braveheart battle scenes. Their pits were were always the most savage for me. Closely followed by GWAR and Cannibal Corpse.

Disturbed was pretty intense. Came out of that one battered and bruised, but smiling. I accidentally broke a guy's nose in a Blink 182 pit in 2001 Witnessed a girl shit her pants in the middle of a circle pit at a Ninja Spy show
I think the holy grail of crazy mosh pits is Slipknot though. I haven't seen them, but it seems to be an agreed upon fact.
*edit* The Used did the 'civil war' or wall of death thing too, but it was just hilarious since it was a pit full of 15yr olds.

Slayer - Macewan Hall - University of Calgary. 2002 God Hates the World Tour. Fucking insanity.
