Seems like the new stage is where D9 was last year? It's a little hard to work that out.
I'm not really too worried about being able to get into the other camps. Technically last year we weren't allowed to go to D9 and the D9ers weren't allowed to come to glamping, but it didn't really stop us at all.

Seems like the new stage is where D9 was last year? It's a little hard to work that out. Yeah, I think you're right. Once I Dr. Garbanzoured out the food vendors are where the D9 parking lot was, it was easier to see the layout. I really want the lack of strict security/ free-for-all attitude of the fest to stay the way it has been since that's kinda where half the charm of it has been for me these last few years. And I'm sure after a few hours of craziness ect, it won't be an issue to meander around, but we should still make sure everyone buys camping for the same field, just in case. Oh, but if the headliners really are Arcade Fire/Bruno Mars/Eminem... depending on the undercard, I might possibly be out.

I'd like to know who said that on the Coachella board. If it was anyone but Rage Patton, I'm calling bullshit. If it was Rage Patton, I'm calling bullshit out of respect.

It was Bumblebee, who seems to pretend to know things. I'm not sure if she(?) has any inside sources, but that claim was made weeks ago and his new tour dates seem to match up pretty well with that.
Aug. 5 Calgary, AB Scotiabank Saddledome
Aug. 9 George, WA, The Gorge Amphitheater
Aug. 11 Eugene, OR Matthew Knight Arena
Squamish is the 8th-10th. It makes very little sense to go Calgary - Gorge without hitting Vancouver in that 4 day gap. It's basically the opposite of what Arcade Fire is doing.

Definitely looks like it will be Bruno Mars and Arcade Fire...
Really? Bruno Mars? I really hope there is a good undercard this year. I'm still contemplating what fest(s) to hit up this year... With prices so high, I have to wait for the lineup to buy tix. I should have went to Squamish last year, but couldn't get the time off work. I am looking forward to going this year... BUT FUCKING BRUNO MARS?!?! seriously..
But, I'd love to see Eminem live. He never plays in the North West or in Canada.

Not that I'm going or anything but you could do a lot worse than Bruno Mars for a headliner. I bet it will be a much more fun show that people realize.

No doubt Bruno Mars is talented, but Squamish has been sticking to a certain type of style for many years. They got the go-ahead to increase the attendance up to 35,000, so to me, it looks like an easy way to guarantee ticket sales. If Bruno Mars does headline, there will be a lot of single-day tickets sold for whatever day he plays. Im ok with that.
Right now I am a person who has not bought tickets to any festival, including Sasquatch (YET). I live in BC so it is interesting to see how this will all play out. Squamish and Pemberton in BC, and 2 weekends of Sasquatch at the Gorge. Sasquatch will probably have the best of the lineups, especially a better undercard, but not having to travel across the border and pay less is a deal breaker for me and a lot of other people I know. It all depends on the lineups.

It all depends on the lineups. It will be interesting to see what the lineups look like. All three (or four, I guess) are three day festivals with capacity between 30,000 and 40,000. Squamish has never sold more than ~15000 tickets, Pemberton is basically a brand new festival (but if I recall correctly it did JUST sell out it's 40,000 tickets in 2008) and Sasquatch is doubling itself, which could hurt attendance each weekend. There is little question that Sasquatch will have the best undercard, but Squamish and Pemberton could shoot for the moon on headliners to get that wow factor. I'm guessing Pemberton has a huge headliner that won't be at Squamish or Sasquatch. Maybe Tool, but I sorta hope not since I don't plan on attending Pemberton right now and that would almost force me to go. If Squamish really does have Arcade Fire and Bruno Mars then they'll draw a pretty big crowd, despite pissing off long time attendees (like myself). All in all it's going to be an interesting few weeks when these lineups come out, and my general expectation is that none of them end up selling out because people only have so much time and money to attend music festivals. I'm glad I know some people going to each of these festivals so that if I decide to be a total moron and actually go to all of them (along with both Coachellas) then there will be someone there to call an ambulance when I inevitably pass out from exhaustion.

Last year's Sasquatch had a capacity of 32,000 I believe. The Gorge has something like a 23000 person capacity for single shows, but the extra stages bring that number up quite a bit.

For what it's worth both Bruno Mars AND Arcade Fire have tour stops at The Gorge in August. I know Canada is a different country and all, but it's still pretty close.

This is what worries me. Not so much Arcade Fire, that's a good booking for this festival, but the limited knowledge I have of Bruno Mars and his fans makes me think that the crowd would make me want to take acid, kill someone and bury them in the forest.
