NIN, Jane's Addiction (just like I predicted several days ago), The Airborne Toxic Event, and Kings of Leon are locks. Just got back from the Airborne show at Neumo's and Harms *from 107.7) spilled the beans. I recorded the show tonight and think I might have been recording when he mentioned those bands. Also, on the way home I heard another End jock mention a "reunion band" (most likely referring to Jane's) and an End Acoustic band. Now, who could that be? Tenacious D? That would kick ass. NIN, Jane's Addiction, The D! Very cool! I have no factual data on the D being a part of the 'squatch, just thinking. How many "acoustic bands" are there that 107.7 plays? It's gotta be Tenacious D.

To support that the Sasquatch site was playing a Tenacious D song for quite some time. That doesn't guarantee anything but it's an exciting prospect nevertheless.
I just found out that the Dead, the Allman Brothers and the Doobie Brothers are playing the Gorge the weekend before Sasquatch. Man those are going to be two expensive weekends for me.

Tenacious D, NIN, Jane's Addiction. What the hell, did the organizers go back in time to when I was in 8th grade and ask all of my classmates who they want to see the absolute most?
If that's true, then you just have to make the logical comparison: Flight of the Conchords, last year, versus Tenacious D. And we can easily see that the quality dropped, hard.
SO: Hoping it isn't true.

This is what i heard from 107.7 last night at the airborne toxic event show. There were a few others but the biggies were Janes Addiction and Nine Inch Nails.

Mind you I'm not the biggest Addiction or Nails fan around(each do have a few good songs, each, IMO), but I'm not about to write off the whole festival just because a few bands(most of which aren't even 100% confirmed yet) that make up not even close to a majority of the acts that will play that weekend may not be what I want. Sasquatch organizers could listen to exactly what I wanted, but probably everyone here would hate that. So on and so forth.

I would have loved to have been able to go to 06 to see Beck. That would have been cool, but I understand why I lot would hate to see him him headline twice in 4 years(same backlash NIN is getting). I'd like to see the Zutons in some fashion, but they don't have the headliner appeal. And that right there is my main problem. A lot of the bands I'd love to see just don't scream headliner at all. But I'm gonna be there more for the undercard rather than the headliners, since when you think about it, they make up such a small portion of the festival in total.

Ghostland 3 years in a row is a little much... then again we technically had Neko case 3 years in a row, though last year was with the New Pornographers...
As for The D... Tenacious D have a song called Sasquatch, so I could kinda see it maybe happening. I actually had it first on my roadtrip to Sasquatch playlist last year.

Tenacious D would be fun. I don't really see them as a Headliner, but possibly right before one, or even during mid-day Sunday or something. It'd be nice to kick back, light up a J and listen to some D though.

Someone on the End just fucked up big time. Nine Inch Nails Jane's Addiction Kings of Leon Airborne Toxic Event Gaslight Anthem TV on the Radio Santogold That's all I could remember, I'm calling in now to see if I can get more. Can anyone explain what exactly happened with this supposed leak on The End? Was it one of the DJs who just started listing off bands he/she said will be at Sasquatch this year? It's their new weekend girl, Abby - she's been on air maybe 3 weeks after Loveline and just started weekends. She screwed up, or maybe they let her leak it, I don't know, but she basically said she was gonna give out some Sasquatch bands in 10 minutes, and did.

Reunion band is probably Jane's Addiction. End Accoustic band is Airborne Toxic Event, who The End loves so much despite playing only one very 90s song of theirs to death. It's a reference to Endfest Unplugged, which was also Bad Religion, PotUS, Everlast and a couple others. So they could theoretically get any of those, but it's almost surely Airborne Toxic Event. The third thing they mention is "Endie" Award winners - Kings of Leon and Santogold both did that.

I've seen Tenacious D live and to anyone who is doubting their ability to headline I have to say that you are sadly mistaken. They put on one of the best shows I've ever seen.

I really don't have anything to say about KoL if they were to headline. I've listened to a few of their songs, and nothing really stuck out at all(may just be me listening to the wrong songs though). If they do get the headliner nod, I may go back and try and listen to some of the consensus' favorite tracks, but if they're just a mid-day band or something, I'll probably try and find something at one of the other stages/tent(s).

I am really hoping for some very unexpected headliner to make things interesting. I like some of the bands that are in the mix so far, but nothing is making me super excited. That could all change in about 12 hours though... Who else will be listening to The End tomorrow morning while they are refreshing the Sasquatch page and the Ear Candy blog?
