Drum & bass anyone? Seeing High Contrast, Netsky, Camo & Krooked, and Bachelors of Science this Friday in SF. HC, Netsky, and BoS are three out of my top 5 d&b artists, so needless to say I'm fucking STOKED. C&K would probably be in there if I listened to them more, but until this morning I had only listened to their songs, never a mix. This mix, however, is incredible. soundcloud.com/camokrooked/camo-krooked-andi-durrantAnd what I'm currently blasting and definitely in my top 3 fave essentials ever: soundcloud.com/das-boy/2007-10-07-essential-mix-high-contrastI'm gonna dance so fast. Downloading these, getting really stoned, and gonna try to astrally project myself into this damn show.

Has anybody seen Kaskade live? I believe earlier in this thread everybody agreed that he was pretty over-rated. I'm half attempted to go see him at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, just to see this big name dj in this small venue. Then again it is still 4 hours away and in the middle of the week, so I would be going out of my way quite a bit. How does he headline these EDM massives without at least being a badass live performer?

His essential mix is a million times better than anything I've heard off his albums. I've also heard he puts on a pretty great set, so I'd say go for it. I'm definitely going to catch at least part of his Coachella set.

He is about 1,000 times better live than he is on any of his recorded material. He puts on a really good show.

While we are on the subject of Kaskade, I noticed he has TBA dates for May 25th and 27th. Possible late add? Round off electric Friday? We can only dream. There has been speculation of another big EDM artist getting added to Friday.

I can't imagine Kaskade playing Sasquatch, but you never know. I'm not sure if I'll catch him at Coachella or not, will depend on who he's up against.
A lot of people rag on Tiesto as well, but he is another DJ who is a lot better live than you might expect.

Fucking crazy that dance music has reached that level. I have no interest in going to the Gorge to see Avicii and Afrojack though. Yuck.

I'm sure the final lineup will have plenty to offer.
All we get this way is dub-step and hiphop type EDM, so I am happy with some house music. It would be the shit if they added a huge trance artist.

I haven't given Afrojack very much of my time, but his live mixes sound pretty good for the most part.

Afrojack is a blast, his set at TAO in 2010 was fucking incredible. Haven't seen him live since Coachella last year (with Sir Paul and Usher poopin hips) but I can't see why his sets would be any less fun.

I've just started listening to Skrillex, and I think I'm getting hooked.
In the past week I've listened to Bangarang about 5 times. Sounds fucking prime in my vehicle, but I feel like one of those douchebags who I hate when I open any windows.

I don't like dubstep, and I don't like Skrillex. I will say that he is a fantastic producer. He creates really catchy formulas that can draw in people who may be on the fence about dubsteb or EDM in general.
He is a garbage performer though. My opinion is totally bias because I used to DJ and I know that what he does on stage takes little to no skill...... unless you consider chain smoking and stage diving a skill.
