I loved all your Bears shirts, J-Dawg. In addition to the #1 threat to america, I had a Bears & Beets & Battlestar Galactica shirt which I was wearing when I met you and Chaco. So yeah, I guess I was wearing the blue shirt Sunday; now I remember, I wore the green "with great moustache comes great responsibility" shirt Friday, Bears & Beets Saturday, and #1 threat to america Sunday (the baby blue one Know spotted). I also had a blue baseball cap that said "Bears" on it in brown, and a glowing orange baseball cap with a bear paw on it (J-Dawg custom special). I'm not sure which of the above you saw me rocking, but it all made an appearance during the festival. The glowing bear paw hat was the best. I had some girls come up to me at Miike Snow. They were all like, "dude your hat is so awesome. GRRRRRRR". I laughed for a while after that. I've never had a girl come up to me and say GRRRR before.

Anyone else think Gotye always having his eyes closed is weird? This is a performance, not your bathroom shower, bro.

Sorry I was fadechella when you met me. I'm glad I got to chest molest my gay husband for a moment though. I loved all your Bears shirts, J-Dawg. The glowing bear paw hat was the best. So much to say, so little time. I checked out Jeff Mangum's Coachella set last night, saw he didn't play 'Naomi', freaked the fuck out for a minute, collected myself, and fanagled a way into tonight's Seattle show (means cannot be disclosed at this time)
Holy shit.
What a genuinely talented musician and a funny guy to boot. He indeed played 'Naomi', with a cellist. Yes. I am satisfied, and can now leave for southern California at midnight. Peace out y'all, I'm gonna go do what you did last week.
PS. HG: I got you phone # from FB; expect a Jon Benjamin related text message next week.

Pretty much any Mangum song I wanted to hear was played when I saw him. "Naomi" was definitely close to the top of the list too. He played that and "Song Against Sex" and "Engine" so I was definitely well off. (If that gives you even more hope you didn't need.)
Also, however disappointing that Radiohead set might have been. I could imagine everything being redeemed when they closed with "Paranoid Android." Anyone have that experience?

Whoa weird, looking at the setlist now, it looks pretty nice. Not too overkill on new stuff. Strangely enough (good thing to me), a lot of Hail to the Thief songs. Wouldn't have expected that. If they added "Just" in there, that setlist woulda been damn near great for me. Subjectiveness is the key here, though, I guess.

Hahaha. "Cosplay courting.. how does that work?" I hear it is similar to red on red. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) hahah! have we confirmed whether ginger on ginger is an actual fetish yet?

Souly wasn't getting texts back from anyone Thursday or Friday and then she lost her phone some time on Saturday. While the phone service at the festival was pretty inconsistent, I can confirm that Catherine most certainly sent Souly at least 1 text a day from Thursday - Sunday... Whether Souly received them, however, is an entirely different matter.

Funny story, I went to google something on Zeph's iphone, and "ginger on ginger" was DEF in the search history. She tells me that the only mildly entertaining thing that popped up was some kind of article about an affair involving a political figure.

I re-watched Radiohead's set last night. Fucking wow! I can't believe that so many people are doggin' on their KoL stuff. All the new songs were the best ones. What a freakshow that band is, I'm astounded by their ability to consistently tap into some kind of new, dark, and beautiful magic each tour. Their stage set up is spectacular as well.
Man, Coachella YouTube reruns with your ears swallowing your headphones into your skull is too much goddamn fun!

Souly wasn't getting texts back from anyone Thursday or Friday and then she lost her phone some time on Saturday. So I guess when I texted her "Are you alive?" and never ever got a response back I can chalk it up to, lost phone and not being not alive. She is alive, she stayed with us last night and left this morning.

Radiohead was fucking mindblowing. Anyone who says otherwise can piss off. My mind was shattered just from seeing it on YouTube, I can't imagine how insane it must have been live. Thom's 'After The Gold Rush' was cool too! I don't think anyone is saying Radiohead sucked, it was just a letdown for me. You can say, "I saw the most insane [fill in the blank act/band] set at Coachella they've ever played," about 20-30 bands because their sets were Coachellized, and I was hoping for the same from Radiohead. Instead, it was similar to every other Radiohead show. They didn't even have the side monitors turned on, and there were multiple burned out lights above the stage. The crowd was amazingly small as well, Justice had a larger crowd. I still watched all but ten minutes of it, and loved every second. Regarding Miike Snow, I was exaggerating when I said they "Sucked live." They don't "suck," but I don't get why everyone thinks they are so good. Granted I only saw the last ten minutes of their set, so they must have been all pooped out from "killing it" earlier in the show. They even play slowed down versions of their songs live. It's like, "our music is too much of a party already, we need to mellow it out." I had just seen Feist, Kasabian, and Godspeed, who were all amazing, so that might be part of it, but this was the third time I've Miike Snow live, so it's not just a knee jerk opinion. My lasting image of their live shows is Scott Stapp doing a Tony Bennett impression.

I'll agree with you about Miike Snow. I didn't find anything particularly great about their set.
LET'S TALK ABOUT PULP, THOUGH!! I didn't even plan on catching them, yet they ended up being one of my favorite festival sets of all time. What a killer live band!

Oh, and wonk. I did end up catching part of Godspeed, after all. I was well off on my journey to Pluto when I wandered into their set, and it ended up being some of the craziest fucking 20 minutes of my life. It was so weird and dark and sinister inside that tent, and all of the visuals melted together with the music into a giant hurricane of swirling guitars and insanity. Holy fuck was that trippy!

Yeah, they were pretty incredible and totally lived up to the ridiculously high expectations I had for them. I don't think I could have asked for a better hour-long setlist. Money well spent.
