There are like seventy-five mushrooms in the forests of Oregon that will kill you dead, two or three that might not. You don't have to add anything, most mushrooms are just straight up poison anyway.

Fair enough, those are good points. I've never done shrooms except from batches from trusted sources and friends have already done some.
The point I was trying to make is man made stuff can be anything, but obviously natural shit isnt necessarily any safer.
We're all saying the same thing, get your stuff from a trusted source.

I like Switch's version the best, because it was a very responsible and well spoken caution that also contained a caps lettered warning against DMT trips! Hahahahhahahaha. I wonder where he learned his lesson from.

This is one of the unfortunate side effects of many drugs being illegal. There are many arguments on both sides, but this is the way I see it: Alcohol is legal and heavily regulated. That means they control and tax it to shit, but at least I can go to the store, buy a fifth of whiskey, and be reasonably certain that it a) is actually whiskey and b) won't kill me if I use it in moderation. In a lot of cases drugs would be a lot safer if they were legal and regulated, and people had more trusted sources.

I don't think you'll find anyone on this board to argue against that. In most cases regulation, taxation and legalization would go a long way to solving a lot of the problems surrounding drugs and their use. Unfortunately the war on drugs is alive and well and not going anywhere.

Well, back to tales of intoxication. This wasn't at Sasquatch, but it's still a fun story / lesson about how alcohol makes you stupid.
I was partying with my then roommates Brett and Leslie, and Leslie's boyfriend Brian was there too. After numerous drinks, I decided I was hungry and made myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Brian thought I was putting raw ground beef on my sandwich (as opposed to jelly), and we started talking about eating raw meat.
One thing led to another (I don't remember the detail), but he wound up daring me to eat one of Leslie's goldfish. Live.
At the end of the evening, Leslie had two fewer goldfish, but she spent the entire next day laughing at me, which I think was a fair trade.
And it turns out goldfish don't taste very good.

Do people actually eat mushrooms from the forest? I was under the impression that most people use the spore kits to grow cubensis in their closet. That's where most of the msuhrooms I have seen come from. I wouldn't eat any fungus straight from the forest.

I may have picked once or twice in my younger days. I don't do that stuff (eating or picking) anymore. It's actually pretty amazing how they grow out there. We were walking around looking for them, finding nothing. It rained for about 3 minutes, and all of a sudden they were absolutely everywhere we looked. I mean everywhere.

liberty caps.
I truly do not recommend anyone trying this. There are look alikes that WILL kill you. You have to know the fine details of what you are looking at.

Oh yeah, that's right. I forgot all about liberty caps. Are they pretty common in BC forests? That's cool. Pretty risky but if you know what you are doing then that's pretty awesome actually.

That's why when I used to do them I only bought ones that were cubensis from the kits. That's a safe bet compared to picking and choosing from the forest.

It was pretty cool at the time. It beats paying for them, but we were definitely nervous when we took the first little nibble even though I was with someone who was pretty experienced with doing that. They tasted better fresh, I'll tell you that much. They grow in the wild from BC all the way down to San Francisco, along with their poisonous evil twins.

Fuck Salvia. How is that shit still legal? Feels weird man... I have halluconated before, but Salvia sent me to a totally different realm. I mean that very literally. It was crazy. But I think I am not supposed to go back there and that is ok too. I might try Salvia again sometime, but I do stick with the idea that you should not be on other substances when trying it, it does not like to compete.

That's where most of the msuhrooms I have seen come from. I wouldn't eat any fungus straight from the forest. I know a lot of people who pick them here, you can find tons of edible mushrooms as well. That being said, I would never try it as I do not want to die from eating fungus.
