What can I say. I'm piss ass drunk and I can't help but post this fucking incredible little song. It's nothing that will win a Grammy but it is a fucking beautiful little song in my opinion. It's actually on my mix CD that I sent out, so I am giving myself away, but not really because anyone that receives a CD with a song by Conor Oberst will already automatically know its from me so shit.

Man, while we're (I'm) on the topic. Gentleman's pact is a great EP. Here's the title track:

You know what Switchy, I really do admire your passion and dedication to Mr. Oberst. It takes a lot to stand by something you love, knowing full well your going to (and always do) catch shit for it. I couldn't imagine someone saying WKD every time I posted something I love, even if it is in jest. I'm sure this goes without saying, but keep on listening to what you love regardless of what others think.
I just youtubed some of his songs, having never really listened I'll say this: I didn't like everything I heard, but I can see/hear why you like him so much. Having never seen him myself I cannot speak to the drunk stage show, but all the live videos I saw he seemed to put on a decent show. I also really liked the first song you posted here.
Have a good night, and turn the volume to ten.

The only other people I know who loves Bright Eyes as much as Switch are 14 year old "emo" girls

Rust- Thanks man, that was a great message to read.
Geno- What can I say, I choose music that speaks to me and gets me through the day. I don't fit the profile of a "typical" Bright Eyes fan, whatever the hell that is, but I can't live my life trying to put myself into a box.

So I am leaving for Portland right now for Bright Eyes at the Crystal Ballroom. I'm gonna go meet the one and only Horned Gramma and StormyPinkness as well. This is actually my first Bright Eyes show so this is a very big fucking deal for me. This is my dream come true and I am so glad I get to see them in a smaller venue first before seeing them at Sasquatch. HOLY SHIT! It's today! It's real! I'm off...........

The show last night was everything I wanted it to be. I can't explain how happy I am right now. I saw one of the greatest shows of my lifetime last night. I hope that some of you take the time to check out Bright Eyes at Sasquatch because I really think you'll be surprised. You can tell that Conor has really matured a lot and is focused on putting on amazing live performances now rather than fulfilling some image for teenage emo chicks. I am still feeling the high from the show.

I am still feeling the high from the show. That's what I gathered from him on the Cassadaga Tour - in a word, focused. By the way, what do you think of the Crystal Ballroom? I saw the Dead Weather there last July. I loved the band, hated the venue: 1)There was only one large fan cooling off the whole floor area, and about halfway through the show, it broke, leaving the place to swelter. 2)I didn't care for how they split the crowd down the middle. 3)Lastly, if there were a fire there (God forbid) everyone would be flat-out fucked. I stayed close to the exit and stood on my tip-toes.

I had a dream last night that WKD and I were singing on stage together at Coachella and then afterward we went and brewed some beer. Did your wet dream sneak into my head last night or something Switch??

Ha ha. Yeah, my wet dream is powerful after seeing this show. I would imagine that many of the boarders here will be visited by WKD throughout the week.

I stayed close to the exit and stood on my tip-toes. I have all the same complaints. The sound was decent, but the lack of ventilation, the splitting of the crowd down the middle, and the lack of emergency exits really make this a venue that I don't really care for all that much. Once Bright Eyes was on stage though all of those worries went out the window.....or should I say they went out the single fire exit.
