This is getting ridiculous. Did you see that chump who gave up the walk off point in the air as if to say, "it's a pop up, there it is, catch it." Then the home run cleared the fence by 50 feet. Ultimate fail. He deserves a shaving cream pie for being a dumb ass. Definite FAIL!

This is getting ridiculous. First it was the pie in the face. Then it was the pie in the face followed with a Gatorade shower. Then it was a pie in the face followed by a Gatorade and ice water bath. Then they changed it up a bit and did a Gatorade/ice water shower followed by a pie in the face. They had better come up with some new material. PIE AND PYE AND MUR PI!

Adios Ichiro. I enjoyed most of the time we had with that man. Maybe he will get a championship now.

Yeah, let's keep this thread Mariner free please. It's called the Baseball thread for a reason.

Mariner-free?? Ah man, that hurts. Isn't not going to the playoffs since 2001 bad enough? Haha, just kidding. Watching the M's as we speak...er..i mean type

I guess you shouldn't kick a team while their down, but if I followed that rule I'd never get a chance to kick the Mariners. Not to mention they've been pretty good against the A's of late and that irritates me. HA!

No you can kick us anytime you want. I will be rooting for your A's though. I want them to take the West. They are really fun to watch right now.

So is Stephen Drew supposed to be the missing piece for the A's? Who had been playing shortstop?
his numbers don't look all that great...he would fit in with my team!
Speaking of the mariners, they have been playing really well since the all star break. Too bad they played soo poor before that.

So is Stephen Drew supposed to be the missing piece for the A's? Who had been playing shortstop? his numbers don't look all that great...he would fit in with my team! Cliff Pennington is the regular A's shortstop, and owns the lowest OPS in all of baseball, by far (around .500). Adam Rosales and Eric Sogard have played the position when Pennington is hurt. Neither can really hit either. Is Drew the answer, probably not, but an upgrade is an upgrade. Drew's OPS this season is only around .600, which is also about as low as you can go in MLB if he had enough at bats to qualify, but his OPS was over .800 his last healthy season (2010), so there is reason to believe the A's could catch lightning in a bottle. It was a straight salary dump for the Diamondbacks, so the A's aren't losing anything but an unknown minor league infielder. OPS for those who don't know is On Base Percentage plus Slugging percent. It's a good indicator of how often a player helps his team scores runs. .800 is typically the mark of a great hitter (Drew 2010).

Right on. As usual I believe the Mariners will win the world series every year until they are mathematically eliminated (i know it is not a healthy way to live) but once that happens I will be jumping on the A's bandwagon.

I'm relieved he somewhat looked liked he's thrown something in his life. Being 25% jock, one of my biggest pet peeves is accidentally finding out people I like and respect don't know how to throw an object. It's like how LOL-speak pisses off many of you on this board. Spontaneous snowball fights are the worst. That is when I realize I hate everyone I know.
I watched an armless dude throw out the first pitch at a recent game with his foot, and it was much more accurate than 90% of celebrities given the same honor.
