Hey Stampz, you should write a script that you want Bill Murray for, and I'll scour Charleston to find him and deliver said script.

I was in Portland this afternoon killing some time before my flight home. I went to the Lloyd Center shopping mall to putz around and I stopped for a milkshake at the diner place. I sat down and was reading and the server walked up to me with a hot fudge sundae. I said, "I didn't order this," and he said, "I know, it's from that girl over there at the booth. She thinks you're good looking and she said she's never done this before but she wanted to buy you a hot fudge sundae."
I got really embarrassed and nervous. She was a cute 20-something with short black hair and she was with a friend. I looked over and their heads were together and she was avoiding eye contact. So I started eating it thinking about what I should say. Finally I turned around again and she and her friend had left! The server said she was too embarrassed.
As you know I have a girlfriend and live in California, but it was the nicest thing and I wanted to thank her. So I posted a missed connection on Craigslist. If any of you Portlandians know this nice young lady, tell her drew says thank you!

So the shameless plug is that you are very good-looking, enough to have a hot fudge sundae bought for you?
'Atta boy.

More like that there is one girl in the world who found me attractive enough from a certain angle to buy me a hot fudge sundae, which is more than I could say about myself a week ago.

I don't know if this even can count as a shameless plug. A friend of mine just released an album and Kevin Drew just retweeted a song from that album. I did the drum tuning for that album. So therefore, by the transitive property, that means Kevin Drew likes my drum tuning right? twitter.com/KevinSelection

Kevin Drew LOVES your drum tuning. When you get big you had better take us all with you, lumps.
But really, that's pretty cool.

Oh you will all be taken whether you like it or not.
Kenny G's big, but you have to wonder how many of his acquaintances are actually proud to know him.

Is it the one by Run Dan Run?

If any of you who were into metal at any point during the past decade remember the band Unearth, my old band's drummer just joined them as a full time member. I don't know how popular they are anymore, but at one point they were probably one of the top 5 metalcore bands on earth. They're kicking off a headlining American tour soon and then will be flying overseas to play a bunch of European dates and festivals. One of the nicest dudes and most kickass drummer I've ever met. Check out this latest video from him...

I think Unearth are still fairly popular. I am actually thinking about checking them out in December with Chimaira. Not quite as excited since I just heard Skeletonwitch will be skipping that date. I think unearth is alright, but they are a little on the generic side.

Hey, So I’m sure this is 100% against board etiquette, but I wanted to throw a plug out there for my little brother’s band. They’re called The Canyon Rose Outfit and they will be putting out their second self produced self released album in February. If you are from the Edmonton and Calgary area they will be playing there quite a bit next year. As his brother I know this sounds pretty biased, but they do put on an amazing and ridiculously fun rock n’ roll show if you’re into that sort of thing. Usually they gig with 2-3 guitars, bass, drums, horns, and a big honkin’ Hammond organ. They are all in their very early twenties. The Music: Sounds like My Morning Jacket, Drive-By Truckers, The Rolling Stones, Bruce Springsteen, Grateful Dead. Anyways, if you feel like giving them a listen you can hear their first album here -> www.canyonroseoutfit.com/music.phpI’d say that “Homemade Wine”, “FM”, “Forking In The River Of Time”, “Terrible Weight”, and “Thin” are pretty representative of their overall sound. “Tennessee Rain” is bloated guitar assault number if that does anything for ya. If anyone would like a free cd PM me with yo’ address and I’ll send you one. If anyone in Edmonton wants news on their shows you can PM me too. They will be at The Brixx on Jan 7 in Edmonton. Thanks, FD
