Totally. I loved the Butthole Surfers' cover of that Donovan song, too. That one was good, for sure. I've got a soft spot for Dead Eye Dick's "New Age Girl".

I listen to music that I can sort of freak out too in the car. Some odd choices, but...
For Reverend Green - Animal Collective Thursday - Asobi Seksu Les Os - The Unicorns
I also listen to Black Betty a lot.

know and HG's suggestions get a big fat yes from me.
We should just use ppl's individual song choices for a collective compilation that we can all listen to at some point on the drive.

I start every drive with Crash Test Dummies' cover of XTC's 'The Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead' from the Dumb & Dumber soundtrack. This is such a good call.

Definitely would be in my "top 10 of driving songs" I almost drive off the road every time. It's a dangerous song.

Brad... Excellent choice. 'All My Friends' is great for that, indeed. That song reminds me of two specific songs by New Order that achieve much of the same thing that 'All My Friends' does. The songs are 'Temptation' and 'Age of Consent'

The songs are 'Temptation' and 'Age of Consent' Heh, again my musical inexperience is shown in full force. Both are fantastic songs, both sound like they directly influenced a lot of Mr Murphy's work, and both songs I have never heard before today. TY, Stamper - great recommendations for my next road trip. Now I will spend the rest of my day in the office getting better aquainted to New Order and Joy Division.

Gorillaz- Stylo
The music video is a car chase so it makes sense that it's a favourite driving song of mine.

When I am beginning to fade off and want to stay on the road: All My Friends - LCD Soundsystem I'd say Dance Yrself Clean. Everything's all relaxing, you feel yourself fading off, then 3:08 hits, and BAM you're awake.

For some strange reason, I love listening to Person Pitch while I drive. It seems to put other people to sleep, but I can't get enough of it.

Something about that album just makes you want to travel. I guess for me its also partially the fact that I got really into it while driving between Pullman and Auburn. And that's a good way to put it... It does make me want to travel.

You guys are spending an awful lot of time working on tracklists when you have some perfectly arranged ones prepared for you here and here and here.

I think the past 3 road trips I've gone on, I've listened to at least one MM album in it's entirety.
As cliche as it sounds, TIALDFSWNTTA is a damn great album to listen to on a road trip for when you have nothing to think about. Lonesome Crowded West too. Though, for me, Moon and Antarctica is more of a sit in your room and listen to with headphones album.
