I could be wrong, but I don't think that they will be announcing any more "big names". The bulk of the lineup tomorrow will more than likely be the 150-200 local bands that are playing. I'm still very curious to see the remainder though. You're probably right, nothing else huge coming but I'm still pretty excited. Should be a few good things and I'll get to do more digging

It's always a great festival to attend. As I am attending Sasquatch, funds are limited so I won't be buying a full pass, but I am considering going to see Mission of Burma, Elliot Brood and Rocket From the Crypt/Spiritualized.

Yeah, like Blacksmile said, it will probably be a couple hundred small time Canadian bands.
I love Sled Island, but I am out of town for the weekend. Picked up a Killer Mike ticket for Thursday night and I will probably check out something Wednesday too.

I was going to say that lineup is fantastic, but $200? For a local radio station festival? The festival market has to be getting saturated by now. When tiny (but good) lineups like that cost what Sasquatch cost 5 years ago you really have to start asking some questions. I wonder if any of those acts will make it over for Rifflandia. To be fair, $200 for the average overpaid Calgarian isn't that steep.

I guess that's a fair point. It's still annoying to see festivals charging stupid prices now just because they're the new hit thing. (hint hint squamish)

No doubt. How much do the organizers make off of these festivals anyway?

I actually really like that lineup. I'll probably end up going if I ever have money again.

It just fizzles out a lot faster as you go down the lineup than last year's lineup did for me. I am sure that I am just speaking out of ignorance of a fair portion of the lineup though.

I want to go but can't justify it. Sadly. Bumbershoot is my hope.

Spoon, Chromeo, Matt & Kim, The War on Drugs, Dum Dum Girls, Beat Connection, Man or Astro-Man?, Angel Olsen, Small Black, Pillar Point, and Lemolo are the bands I know & like, which seems well worth $146 to me, but yeah, it doesn't scream star power.

Matt & Kim better make their way north afterwards, that's really my only must see on that lineup. Everything else I've seen pretty recently, or will be seeing.
Edit: aww fuck me they're playing Center of Gravity in Kelowna, that might rule them out for a Vancouver show.

That MFNW lineup is fucking terrible. Worst part being that now that they are holding it on the waterfront, I can't just buy a Man Man ticket and blow off the rest of the festival like I usually do.

I believe I had that: The Antlers have shows in Vancouver and Seattle in July, but they're skipping Portland. I'm officially rumoring them for MFNW. and that: MFNW just retweeted this tweet from Spin about Run the Jewels. Hopefully that's an indication they're playing the festival this summer!

The last time Spoon played CHBP I scaled the building that the Comet is in and watched them from on top of the roof with roof dudes who gave me beers because I scaled a fucking building. That's a pretty good way to see Spoon.
