I recently listened to the Howl's audiobook and it's also enchanting, but Miyazaki changed so much to make it fit his worldview. Because there are never really bad guys in his movies, just misunderstood guys, and the tension is always internal. He's such a genius.

Legends of Galactic Heroes is the only anime show I have watched to any great extent and enjoyed. It is fucking awesome. AWESOME.

What? I really liked the book and I didn't think the movie was a very good adaptation. I'm a huge Miyazaki fan, but Howl's Moving Castle is probably my least favourite. Though I didn't find it as boring as HG.

No judgment, I just myopically believed everyone shared my opinion of Howl's. I liked the movie more than the book. I wish Miyazaki had written the book instead.

I can count on one hand the number of times that I have straight fallen asleep watching a movie in the theater.
-The Corpse Bride
-Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
-Howl's Moving Castle
I was, like, on fire to see Howl's Moving Castle. Spirited Away was one of the most beautiful, exciting animated films I have ever seen. The only thing Howl had going for it: the moving castle. Once I took that image in, there was nothing else that film had to offer me. I just didn't care about anything that was happening.

Death Note. Fuck I need to rewatch that show again. Seriously one of my all time favorites. Death Note is solid. Geno, you should watch Darker Than Black. Horrible title but a really cool show, sort of like Death Note sort of. In mood only. |
