It's the back side of an album cover. I always loved the artwork, and when I met the band last year I brought the album for them to sign. They turned it over and noticed that it was one of the first editions of the album. Plus, owls are fucking cool.
Also, the band is USS

Oh fuck are you a Libra ro? Yes..............the scales, though are a 'tribute' tattoo to my grandma that died in the beginning of the year. One of the most vivid memories I have of her house is that she had this wrought iron (did I seriously write rot? stupid.) and amber glass scale that I was so obsessed with as a kid so I got a replica of it on my back and her name is in the bottom. It's secondarily symbolic because it's my Zodiac sign and thirdly because we are a big orchid family. |

Speaking of gramophones. Ever since I got into the aviation field, I've wanted the gramophone airplane from the Aeroplane Over the Sea booklet. I figure it's the absolute perfect way to pay tribute to both my love of aviation and music, but at the same time I don't want it to get asked about my "Neutral Milk Hotel tattoo." I suppose only about 1 out of 100 people even know who they are, so it shouldn't ever be an issue.  EDIT: Oh god damnit. Of course someone has it exactly where I want it, too.  |
