Pearl Jams pretty good, ive seen the beastie boys they are ok. they opened for the police at virgin fest 07. the only one of the 3 bands mention whoa re real headliner material is radiohead, pearl jam is close but no cigar. hahaha.......... That's funny Pearl jam not headliner. Especially In The NW. love your sense of humor. By the way any body know who headlined Bonnaroo in 2008? and isn't Bonnaroo the biggest North american festival. Just checking

Saturday:Beastie Boys--doing Paul's Boutique Sunday:Radiohead Monday:Pearl Jam FTW!! I Think we might get one of them but, I can't see all three, no way. Beasties, I Just have a feeling they won't be there. I heard a couple of rumors about Radiohead. I think they only way they are there, is if they headline 2 nights like they did at APW, that way LN can throw more money at them to entice them to come. Which would be awesome. Pearl jam is , I think is a probably the Most likely. But Who Knows?

Did anyone follow that brooklynvegan link? Somebody posted that Radiohead will be there. Don't toy with my fragile emotions. Don't get excited, the posting also said that LCD soundsystem would be in the Dance tent. If An act as big as LCD is there I doubt they would be in the dance tent. Especially one the same size as last year. But hey if Radiohead and LCD are there . That would already make it the best line up sasquatch has ever had.

hmmm Kings of Leon, The Decemberists, Peter Bjorn and John, Monotonix, Animal Collective, Neko Case, Passion Pit, The Avett Brothers, Sun Kil Moon, John Vanderslice and Grizzly Bear.Pretty weak thus far, outside of PBJ. Not really if you consider there are approximately 50 more bands to be announced. And except for Neko case( who is there every year, not a stretch she would be there again) these are all bands, confirmed and rumored, on Dustin's Blog.

"I have read in the past that My Morning Jacket and Beck are taking time off from touring, so each is unlikely. My Morning Jacket isn't even on the Bonnaroo lineup (yet?) which would support this. Beck shouldn't be back so soon without his puppet gimmick. At least when the Flaming Lips came back, it was with their UFO. A normal Beck show might be disappointing compared to Sasquatch 06."
Hey knowidyuh
I get your point but when it comes To headlining, a Band gets enough coin to do a one off performance, so i can see MMJ or Beck being there. But I agree with you about Beck, he has a new band with the modern guilt CD , so I am not sure how tight they are yet.

So... - Kings of Leon - NIN - Elvis Costello - Jane's Addiction - Pearl Jam Those are the most talked about names I've heard. Anyone else to add as realistic possibilities? (No not Coldplay or The Killers) Hopefully we'll know in a week or so. Can't wait for this lineup! I would say Beck Arcade Fire and i can see as a headliner My Morning Jacket. ( if KOL, why not MMJ) and just to add some totally unrealistic and would never in million years be at sasquatch, But is going to be touring this year and would be pretty cool to see. Peter Gabriel.

Okkervil River Little Ones Beirut Jamie Lidell R.E.M. (would be interesting to know how many bands at Sasq were influenced by these guys) The Mars Volta Stephen Malkmus (saw him 3 yrs ago-meh) kinda Modest Mouse (horrible when I saw them-but still holding out some hope) 1) Beirut 2) The Hives 3) Okkervil River 4) Jamie Lidell 5) R.E.M. (weather blamed for some of the lost magic) 6) Little Ones 7) Mates of State The only let-down was the overlap of Ghostland and FLips. Chose FLips.

You have to have your plan but remain flexible. The last two years major upsets moved set-times significantly. Especially main stage.

This was a great change last year. The plaza was packed in 2006 for CYHSY. Last year when the main stage shut down there was plenty of room to check out Tokyo Police Club in the meadow.

I wasn't prepared last year for the cold wind. This year I will be completely prepared...so it will be beautiful. I will also bring my hail preparedness kit so again it will be gorgeous.
Maybe I'll forget my sunblock so it'll be sunny!

I have so many conflicts. Monday TMV Vs. Michael Ian Black I am so frustrated and excited all at the same time! Don't miss Jamie Lidell. He's funk with some electronica. He's on at 7 and gives you time to get to the others if it's not your thing. His live show is so unique I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I've seen REM twice, Once in Vancouver when Thom Yorke came on stage and sang "It the end of the world........" It was the best concert I have ever been too. They will put on a good show, but they not sing all the songs you want to here. There catalogue is too big. But if they sing "Country Feedback" your in for a treat.
New Pornographers ( with Neko) are great
I've seen DCFC twice and they were better Than I thought they would be, because of all the stories I've heard on how bad they were live.
If you've never seen them live, You have to see Ghostland Observatory and Jamie Liddel.
Modest Mouse- I love their albums but I saw them live and they were really off, ( what's more Man Man opened up for them and blew them away)
I can't wait to see : The National Beirut Okkervil Flaming Lips Flight of the Conchords Battles The Little Ones ( I love there EP's )
and the Cure

Hey Loyal From London Trust me this lineup is much better than last year, I remember in 2006 I missed alot of band because they were so many overlapping. It was such a great lineup. Last year we did not have that problem we didn't move around too much and saw every band we wanted to. Now don't get me wrong there were a some great bands but the 2008 lineup is like the 2006 with so many band to chose from.
I love the polyphonic spree but they are not close to the popularity as some of the other bands mention , plus this year there are going To be amazing bands on the second stages. Battles and Ghostland to mention a few. But do have your homework now, go the Bands my space page and listen to some of the songs they have streaming. If you like them then start getting some of their albums and decide on who you want to see.
as for popularity I would say that Interpol is in the same tier as Modest Mouse, DCFC, The mars volta.
polyphonic is about on par with built to spill and The national.

Worst memory was shivering the evening of the 2006 hailstorm, wondering why I had to sit thru Ben Harper's incredibly long set to hear Flaming Lips. Then missing FL due to hypothermia setting in.
Best memory was Polyphonic Spree's "secret" set on a side stage following the 2007 windstorm shut-down.
...and Bjork. "Raise your flag!"

thesnoo52: what we usually do is bring a blanket, find a good place in the in the grass. And when there is a band on the main stage or on another stage that we would like, leave the blanket and go. we have never had a problem with someone taking our spot. Then you can get pretty close to the main stage. and then you can go back and relax and watch the main stage from far off when you get tired.
That is one of the best things about Sasquatch.
