Yeah it was - you should definitely do one again this year if you get a chance. That was great to have as a prep for the festival.

Sure- the only ones that are on there that I wasn't very familiar with before putting that together were: Blind Pilot, King Khan & The Shrines, Owl City, and Death Vessel. All the others I knew somewhat well. There are some tracks that I picked for random reasons too though- KoL I picked "the bucket" just because that still is my favorite song of theirs, and I feel like it'll transfer to the live show well, Passion Pit I picked "I've Got Your Number" because I figured most people that knew them only knew "Sleepyhead," and I thought it was worth putting a different track out there...etc.

As someone mentioned earlier...for better or worse, they're now headlining arena tours. At some point (this past summer really), they jumped from being just outside the mainstream to a huge act. They blew up in Europe first, but seem to have finally taken off here. Interesting for a band that sort of flew below the radar for awhile to suddenly take off like that, but it seems to be what happened.

Glad to do it- Basically, it's a mix of tracks that I thought were good introductions to some of the performers, and for a few bands that I was unfamiliar with, a track that I enjoyed out of the 3-4 that I sampled for each. Sort of a starting point to see if the acts are worth looking into further before May rolls around.

Looks like he's in the dance tent the 2nd night...he's listed under Zach Galiafanakis (sp?) on the night-by-night rundown.

OK I'm ready to get past the hey-who-took-the-flaming-lips-and-turned-them-into-NIN conversations. Especially since I've been part of some. I know I'm excited for this year, and ready to get more so. Last year, one of the people on the board put together a podcast, which I know I listened to on the drive out to the gorge and greatly appreciated. It was great to get a listen to some music to help in the decision-making of which stage to check out when. In light of all this, I decided put together a 3-part mix, one for each day of the festival. Day 1 (Saturday) is complete, I'll let you know when I get the other 2 parts up. Hope you all enjoy: wormsvsbirds.blogspot.com/2009/02/sasquatch-2009-mix-day-1-saturday.html

Looks like on the preliminary website, there will still be all 3 stages. Probably a number of bands still to be added/announced though.

I think I pretty much agree with everybody here....Kinks would be great, White Stripes could save the day, NIN would bring out creepy people/be kind of annoying, jane's addiction is decidedly not legendary. Honestly though, looking back at past lineups, I really have a sense of optimism that the promoters are going to come through and do something like...have NIN/JA on main stage the 1st night, but have a great band headlining the 2nd stage to get us from stop complaining, and give us great headliners the other nights. But if it's Ben Harper a 2nd night, and KoL headline the 3rd....that is just weak. Fingers crossed that we get Arcade Fire or someone else out of left field...Sufjan...Blur...

So I don't think my predictions for headliners will change in the next two days, and since Felix has me duped, my final predictions are: Jane's Addiction / Nine Inch Nails / Ben Harper & Relentless7 / Kings Of Leon I think this guess is as good as any, but DAMN that would be a disappointing headlining group compared with the last few years. It would also seemingly bring in a pretty different crowd than last year's MM/REM, DCFC/Cure, Lips lineup. Looks like we're going to at the very least get a great mid-bill selection. Guess we'll see on Tuesday for sure.

I'd love to see:
-Blur -Sufjan Stevens -Arcade Fire -The Shins -Pearl Jam -MGMT -LCD Soundsystem
gimme 3 of those, and this festival is already A+ in my book. I'm confident they'll fill out all 3 stages well though.

First timer here-
How is traffic getting in and out of the festival in general? I've got a flight out of seattle Tuesday mid-morning, and am just wondering if I'm in some trouble, in terms of getting back over there...
thanks-
