i agree that LCD probably wouldn't headline.
Every headliner that Sasquatch has ever had has been an artist that has been established for years except the Postal Service, and KOL (who are probably one of the biggest new mainstream bands of the last few years)
Even the thought of Pavement headlining surprises me, but i am perfectly fine with a longer set from them. I also can't imagine FNM or TCV headlining either.
Soundgarden and The Flaming Lips are the only 2 mentioned that really seem to connect with me.
David Byrne and Beck both have collaborative records out this year that could push them into the foreground.
Overall i'm kind of stumped though.

Assuming we do get the Lips doing Dark Side, is that all they do? I would rather see a regular Lips show but they do seem pretty determined to do Dark Side. I'm more interested to see what their material from Embryonic would be like live. Supposedly at Bonnaroo they are playing two sets, one that is Dark Side, the other that is FLips stuff. But at Bonnaroo they can play for 3 hours in a late night set. I don't know if they have that flexibility at Sasquatch. Maybe if they headline a night and get to play to 1:00 am. It would be a hell of a show. They played to 1:00 in '06, albeit under strange circumstances. But if it happened once, maybe it can happen again.

and Peaches? In fact, why not a Peaches set at Sasquatch. I'm kind of surprised it hadn't happened before

everything I said applies to Pearl Jam x10 and you're crazy if you think NIN could headline the gorge on their own. I'm with you cbatson. Jack Johnson is probably too big now since he headlined the Gorge himself. Pearl Jam is never going to be at Sasquatch. And NIN could not sell out the Gorge themselves. I've seen NIN sell out larger venues than the Gorge. That being said, I saw Ben Harper and Jack Johnson with 45,000 other people in 2003. Jack Johnson had a significantly larger following, and although he still probably does, a lot of people are also over him, no one really gets over NIN. Jack Johnson is no less/more larger than Radiohead, REM or the Beasties.

my friends and i went to get breakfast in vantage every morning last year and didn't even get a dirty look from any of the security people. if you're worried about them changing that this year, just do your shopping in ellensburg (if you come from that direction) before showing up on friday. Or if you bypass the Gorge exit by 10 minutes, George has cheap amenities, and colourful locals (very colourful)

i have found a great love in the new Yeasayer. The new Hot Chip is, as usual, great fun.
I'm slowly enjoying the Beach House album

take a water bottle, and use a pocket knife to pry off the cap with the seal (by slowly unscrewing the cap as you pry the seal), enjoy the water, and then refill with vodka while replacing the cap. based on the size of bottle, you can have a really messy day.
a couple cans of beer can fit into shoes as well, with black socks stuffed in on top. wear flipflops into the venue and pull your shoes out "for them" as they search the bag, they don't bat an eyelash.

David Byrne & Fatboy Slim have that concept album out in February. No talk yet of doing anything live with one another, but judging by the new single, it would be a very well received set at Sasquatch. I'd be down (as long as FRATboy slim leaves his solo music and fans behind)

I'd love to see the Black Crowes play sasquatch. They'd be a perfect sub-headliner, and would sound great with that view.

i guess being one of the largest selling artists of the last 20 years isn't a high achievement.

about 60% of the bands on that lineup are ones I was hoping for sasquatch this year. It'll definitely be interesting to see who they can pull from there. And Grace Jones?! Gary Numan?!?! how wonderful and unexpected. I might be California bound this spring.
