I skipped the mushroom risotto and steak and opted for this bad ass instead. Sirloin beef, homemade mayo, applewood smoked bacon, fried mushrooms and old aged cheddar cheese...with home fries.

The Alabama Shakes record fucking rocks. I want to quit my job and follow them around on tour this summer in an old winnebago. Fucking rights!! It's too bad they aren't opening for Neil Young in Calgary like they are in the states. I want to see them again so bad. That Sasquatch set did not quench my thirst.

No wife. No kids. Sat in the backyard for a bit and had a couple of afternoon beers. Went inside and cranked up Sigur Ros' ( ) to a bone rattling volume and had a nap, which was probably the best (and only) nap I've had since the one I had on the hill during Bon Iver's set at Sasquatch.
Now I'm listening to music, still at a high volume, and prepping up a nice dinner of NY Strip with mushroom risotto and green beans.

I've been drinking the Whistler Brewing Company's summer variety pack all summer and that shit is fucking amazing. The best of the four kinds are the Whiskey Jack Ale and the Powder Mountain Lager. The grapefruit beer is interesting but loses its appeal after a few gulps.

I really enjoyed last nights episode. It wasn't quite as dark as it's been in the last couple of seasons, but it was a fun episode to open this season with for sure. Best part was when Walt put Saul in check.

Some stand-outs are Soul Asylum, R.E.M., Bob Mould, and Blind Melon. If I wanted to shore up some of the others, any suggestions? Definitely check out Thee Oh Sees if you've never listened to them. Fucking incredible music right there. If you're into 90's power rock bands that never made it then Fretblanket, Supergarage and Flowerhead should fix you right up. I don't give a shit what anyone says, 90's rock rules my life.

I've heard a lot of good things about The Wire. We watched episode one of Deadwood last night and I', not 100% sold. I'll give it a couple of more episodes.

I tried this show awhile back. I liked it but the Mrs. did not. I may have to give it another run.

So my wife and I just finished watching all three seasons of Justified and it was fucking amazing. We need a new show to start on, it's a toss up between Deadwood or The Wire.
Any recommendations?

Bison BC are incredible live. I missed the show here on Saturday, but had the chance to see them last year at Sled Island and they blew my expectations sky high, and that was an afternoon set in 30 degree heat. I can't imagine what they'd be like in a small club.
