no doubt the core of the lineup comes from the NW, i checked wiki quickly and I think thats about it with regards to bands that play after 6:00, i'm just saying main end of the night headliners show no northwest pattern

maybe:
arcade fire vampire weekend? weezer ween wilco (on the magic flight) snow patrol james blunt the dead weather
a lot of those are total shots in the dark but they are people that could be considered "untested" headliners

Soundgarden can be a rumor but RATM is out of the question? That makes little sense to me. Soundgarden is from Seattle. That's an automatic poop in credibility to any band rumor, apparently. but does it really, out of all the sasquatch headliners guess how many have been from seattle or the NW.... one, the postal service in 2004, and that is hardly a "northwest" group.

this is a BIG long shot, but RATM was confirmed for several european shows today........
all of the shows take place in early june so the timing would be perfect and before you say they're not a sasquatch band....think NIN?

So I guess that means 1 or 2 on the east coast? Luckily I have to be up late anyway. I'm in the UK studying abroad dude....not gonna be too fun for me either

that really wouldn't shock me being that all of out "solid rumors" are really nothing more than very weak circumstantial (ex. "the fact that soundgarden is from seattle they might play" "the fact that arcade fire played a few years back they might play") and i don't think the flips will be there because they just headlined, I know they were there in 06 and 08 but in 06 they didn't headline (same with NIN, headlined 06 but not 09) I think there is a good chance we are looking at two, maybe three (depending on if pavement is indeed headlining) big curve balls....and i'm excited

I was reluctant at first but the more I think about it I would actually be thrilled to have Thom Yorke headline. It wouldn't upset me if he headlined because I love pretty much anything he touches, but he is one person I might actually enjoy more if they subheadline....sun setting at the gorge, that would be dope

well...they both play primavera so that would make sense with regards to the "magic flight" theory discussed earlier....
this means pavement is playing monday, usually the weakest star power day
this means we still might maybe kinda could have a chance at soundgarden/pearl jam sat/sun!!!! (or two other BIG names, aka pavement won't be the biggest name on the bill)

The National and BSS just don't seem like sub-headliners to me but I could be wrong i suppose... past years have been Queens of the Stone Age, Modest Mouse and Yeah Yeah yeahs among others. Granted that a select few but still... I know what your saying but I feel like monday (the day I'm really hoping pavement headlines) is a whole new ball game. I don't think The National is THAT much smaller than Erykah Badu or The Mars Volta, either way I'd def rather watch a set from The National than either of them.

petty would blow my mind (and pemberton was amazing, damn shame it ended) but when he headlined that year he was in the mist of a huge tour (starting with the super bowl if i remember right) and on top of that two of the tour stops were a two night stint at the gorge.....
could it happen....for sure, but i think he falls in the same group as perl jam

30 dollars x 30000 people=$600000 , that's enough for maybe two headliners or maybe a down payment for Gorillaz, eh Andimac. I know they maybe a shot in the dark but I do think there is a better chance of the Gorillaz than Radiohead Also one more headliner we haven't discussed is Massive Attack. Discuss .... yeah you could do that.....or, you could make an extra 600 grand on a show that sells out frequently, live nation isn't in the business of wasting money.

as much as no one wants to hear it there is a good chance Jack Johnson headlines one night. I know it's not exciting but its possible, and don't say he's "not a sasquatch! band" because we've had KoL, Ben Harper (2), Coldplay, DCFC, and.....Jack Johnson before. And Jack's got a huge break from his word tour in May.
Jack Johnson Pavement Soundgarden?
