I was going to mention the strokes, I'd assume if they're doing european festivals than they'll be doing american ones as well and if they are in europe in july then they might still be in america at the end of may.
Friday: Arctic Monkeys----Foo Fighters Saturday: Death Cab---The Strokes Sunday: Belle and Sebastian-----Flaming Lips Monday: Fleet Foxes-------Wire
Wire have a portland date in april but are skipping seattle, I'm not a big fan but I could see them closing out the fest. Similar to ween last year.

best coast and wavves aren't stopping in seattle despite stopping in Vancouver, Victoria, and Portland...did one of them play seattle recently, it seems kind of strange. Also what about The Strokes, they announced today the new album is done and needs to be mixed, there could be a big tour in the works for this summer.

nah it applies to everyone. Every year local bands complain about the fact that they can't play local shows around Sasquatch time Hmmm weird. I saw Caribou the two days leading up to Sasquatch in Portland and Seattle. I don't understand why they'd make local bands not play Seattle. I would only really think that headliners and sub headliners would really need to have that rule applied to them as only those bands could take away from Sasquatch attendance by playing a nearby city. Yeah your right about this, but with that being said it would a kind of dumb move to book a band to play a show in seattle the day before sasquatch from a promoter's standpoint (who's gonna buy the tickets...)...but yeah usually clauses like that only apply to headliners

although blue scholars seems like a slam dunk with them not having been there for the last few years i'd really prefer some other seattle hip hop, someone above mentioned macklamore, grynch is up and coming, common market has been before but puts on a way better show, or gabe teodros....nationally my guesses for hip hop would be pretty shaky but i might throw big boi or the roots (i think someone said that before) out as a possibility

it might be worth noting that interpol is skipping seattle on their upcoming world tour despite them being on the west coast for a couple shows in california, then again the tour ends in december so it still might be way too soon to mean anything

Arcade Fire - Just sold out Madison Square Garden. Cap. 19000. didn't MMJ do the exact same thing for new years last year? Arcade fire will clearly hit seattle at some point over the next year, i'm not sure they would sell out the key arena (for various reasons, one being the key arena sucks and everyone knows it) and the paramount seems way too small for them.

I'm thinking there is a pretty good chance we see phoenix as a headliner, they are playing MSG this fall (just like MMJ did last winter in breakthrough style) and may still be doing a few shows come next spring (evil urges was released two years ago just like phoenix's last album will have been come next may) next to that I would expect the Arcade Fire and Modest Mouse (sasquatch loves repeats) and interpol would also make sense.

it was actually just them. I guess it was kind of stupid of us to think they all were going to charter a jet to fly them together. They also all rode coach, not really the rock star mentality.

For those of you concerned about the validity of the "magic flight" discussed earlier with regards to those artists scheduled to perform both Sasquatch and Premivara I will have you know I rode said "magic flight." It left Amsterdam International at 9:00 am on friday and none of the members of Broken Social Scene were vary happy about it.

I'll just throw it out there that High Violet is fucking phenomenal. agreed, although i don't think it's as good as Boxer, on par with Alligator and one of the best releases of the year so far.

With that said, I'm sure the live show will be much more pleasant than my listening experience. I saw their live show last fall when they first started getting big and granted maybe they've gotten tighter in the wake of their success but i left after about 15 min of inexplicable noise.

rappers just don't age like rock musicians What the hell is this even supposed to mean? I could do a lengthy sarcastic post in which I share pictures of the Rolling Stones and bastardized touring versions of The Who or Queen, but I'll just skip that and instead say "quit fucking clowning." what it means is that rappers can't perform when they get old. And by old I mean like over the age of 40 (with the exception of Jay Z, I don't know how he does it) Keith Richards and Pete Townshend are almost 20 years older than the oldest rapper alive so comparing them is just fucking stupid. I don't think you'll find anyone that will argue that a Public Enemy or KRS One show is close to as good now as it was in the early 90s but look at U2, Tom Morello, or Pearl Jam and you can easily argue that they are at (or at least much much closer) to their peak live performance ability.

sasquatch has never been that great when it comes to hip hop and this line up is no exception, what they have done thought is quite good with the little hip hop they have. I've seen public enemy life and although I respect what they do for the line up, rappers just don't age like rock musicians

It was announced today that Band of Horses is touring with Perl Jam, they have a date together a few days before Sasquatch, Band of Horses is playing Monday where Ween is probably the weakest headliner of the three nights. I know, it seems unlikely, but hey this this a rumors thread right

yes you can, I did it in 08. My dad dropped me and my brother off (in the parking lot, don't be stupid about it) on his way to eastern washing and just left and we brought our stuff into the campground then he swung by and picked us up on tuesday morning. You need someone willing to sit in traffic and drop you off though, aren't parents great?
