I know for a fact that Die Antwoord will be at maysquatch! I dont have any backing im allowed to give out besides I work at a big venue in portland, but I can promise that they will be there to all of you!
So, every damn year for the last five years of my Sasquatch career I have died hoping and crossing fingers that maybe Devendra Banhart will be even a last minute addition. This year, all has come to fruition and the world is whole! Devendra is an incredible freak folk artist who can hit all genres from salsa, bluegrass, reggae and gospel! If you are unfamiliar with this spectacular man, make yourself familiar! If anyone shares this excitement, let it be known! I haven't heard much talk about him yet and he most definitely should be know!
I saw them for the first time at coachella '07. I was freaking out over how awesome they were, but the rest of the crowd seemed very indifferent. Watching them kill their wookie spot was like watching Rocky knock out Ivan Drago in Rocky 4. It was good to see them get some recognition.
thats a perfect explanation of their set. like exact.
Ok so there are already a few posts already about wish-lists but they go off in tangents.. What bands do you really hope will make an appearance this year?
My Picks:[ Wavves Ezra Furman & The Harpoons Late Of The Pier Born Ruffians Builders and Butchers Kay Kay and His Weather Underground Starfucker Caribou The Bloody Beetroots Washed Out The Black Keys Teen Daze Explode Into Colors Yeasayer Delorean Hot Chip Foxy Shazam! Devendra Banhart Daniel Tosh
Haha, this is true. I'm a poor college student though. So, I decided the combination of Animal Collective, Grizzly Bear, Bon Iver, Passion Pit, M83, and TV On The Radio a few hours away would be better than going all the way to Indio to see Sir Paul, My Bloody Valentine, Crystal Castles, Mastodon, and a few other bands that interest me. It's a tough call, but I can never pass up a trip to the Gorge.
That is a nice want list. I would back every band you mentioned (except TV on the Radio). I wish there was someone like Mastodon at Sasquatch. Bonnaroo throws in a heavy metal act or two each year. Maybe Monotonix will make up for the void.
If some metal bands get added I will be extremely happy/satisfied/content
