I don't normally get excited about someone being ill but I was pleased not to have sit through his set before the xx. Did anyone like Mt St Helen's Vietnam Band? Not for me, and some drunk french guy was behind me with a foam tube (which he frequently referred to his magic stick) hitting my friends to the beat and screaming for City and Colour. Some awesome guy behind me called him out and the guy's girlfriend called him a "*** in a moustache". Amusing.

I didn't think this was their best set. This was the sixth time I've seen them. I'd chalk it up to setlist and 42(!!) hours of travel beforehand. From the new album I really wanted to see Art House Director and Water in Hell.. that was a bust. They were good but not great and damn if that Lisa Lobsinger doesn't come off as a lofty indifferent cunt.

I only casually listened to them before sasquatch but I really didn't think their recordings suggested such an intense live show. Not overly familiar with their catalogue but an example is Squalor Victoria. It had so much muscle! I'm hooked now and I can't wait to see them again at Osheaga. One of my favourite performances.
