If there's one thing I know about guys named Brandon, it's that they will fuck up your blog.

I hate to bring it up, but this board got burned BAD the last what, two years? The rhetoric of this board doesn’t usually trust 107.7 the end, but for this? Makes me double suspicious, but it certainly looks 100% legit. I don’t trust 107.7 because they’re not KEXP and every time I tune in they have a station break that says “SEATTLE’S NUMBER ONE NEW MUSIC DISCOVERY” immediately followed by a Nirvana song. Totally believe the leak though. They are in a position to know, and you just can’t trust Brandon to publish the blog at the right time. Exactly. This wasn't put up as a "lineup prediction" this was a press release. It makes sense they would type it up on Friday to have it ready right when the lineup is announced on Monday. Only our buddy Brandon was in a rush to get out of there Friday night and hit Publish instead of Save and it hit Google before they could pull it. This is real.

Another little nugget I found at the bottom:
Maybe I’m just stoned, but this kinda sounds like a lot of fun.

I was digging through the bottom of the lineup putting together a playlist on google and I came to Giants In The Trees. I’ve never heard of them. I pulled them up and they have an album but no artist description, but “related artists” included Kurt Cobain and Dave Grohl. So I looked closer at the album art and there’s fucking Krist Novocelic holding an accordion. We are getting the son of my favorite Beatle and the other guy from Nirvana. Serious rock and roll royalty at Sasquatch this year.
Oh, and they have a song called “Sasquatch”

It turns out that Lizzo recorded her last album at Justin Vernon’s studio in Wisconsin. I’m starting to pick up all kinds of little JV connections all throughout this thing. Got me thinking as I was a couple days ago about how Bon Iver isn’t touring so they won’t be in any hurry. He could hang at the The Gorge all weekend if he wanted to. He’s doing two nights at Bonaroo and obviously like hanging out a festivals because he created one pretty much in his back yard (along with Aaron Dessner of The National). I know I spoke up earlier about how unlikely it would be for him and The National to appear together. But what if? The National won’t be there for his set, but he might be there for theirs. What if instead of two unique Bonny Bear sets we get a weekend full of Jesus Vernon magically showing up in other people’s sets? I know that probably too much to ask, but so was this lineup and it happened.

this is the tour you would want to see him in to date. Agreed. He really seems to maturing (something I never thought I'd say about Tyler, the Creator) and coming into his own as an artist lately. Seeing Tyler in 2018 will not be the same as seeing Tyler in 2014.

So does everyone like Tyler or what? I don't really know much about him but I walked by his set and used the porta potties by his stage at Coachella, so I heard about 10 minutes of it and it sounded awful. I didn't know who it was until after I left and checked the schedule. He spent a good chunk of time just saying that he sees Kendal Jenner in the front and just generally being a garbage human. That being said, it was only 10 minutes so I could be convinced he isn't terrible. his new album is his best work and I imagine he'll bring a full band. It'll be good. Check out his recent tiny desk concert Flower Boy is good, but I think Wolf was his best album. Just my opinion, though. Cherry Bomb had some good songs and some terrible ones too.

Can we get this shit plz? Bon Iver and the National on stage at the same time (37.30) Considering Sasquatch's history with collaborative performances (read: lack thereof) and the fact that The National is playing Boston that same weekend, I wouldn't get my hopes up.

I think that might be the most shocking thing about this lineup to me. There's not a single piece of garbage on the whole thing. It seems like there's usually one or two that we're like "what the fuck? Oh well" about and this year has none of that. It's just solid gold from top to bottom. Sure, there might be a couple that aren't my cup of tea, but there's no Post Malone, no Halsey, no Macklemore, no fucking Diplooooo PEW PEW PEW PEWoooo PEW PEW PEW PEW. All killer, no filler. So does everyone like Tyler or what? I don't know how I could possibly be any happier with this lineup than I am, but Challenge Accepted. Post Malone #lateadd I think that might be the most shocking thing about this lineup to me. Oh okay, I am so glad to be in the loop now. I just was there in 2014, and I napped then so I could see the correlation. So is The National attended to more in 2018 then 2014? I tried to get into that album of theirs before 2014, but it has yet to sink in. It really depends. I'm actually kind of baffled how much the National play festivals. They can play multiple nights selling out 3000 person theaters around North America and probably Europe, but they are kind of a niche band. Critics mostly love them, their fans will pay many dollars to see their shows, but I still think if you ask the average radio listener with a passing interest in festivals who they are, they will have no idea. This lineup is very much geared to people who probably like the National. If it sells well, I think it will be better attended than 2014. Just my guess though. Absolutely. 2014 was about 50% people who were just there to see Outkast, so The National had a hard time holding their attention with Boys Noise kicking up across the hill. This year will be a much higher percentage of people who appreciate them and I think the crowd will stick around better this time.

I think you are a little out of the loop. The big nap happened in 2010 when they played the napping hour (~5pm, mainstage) and in 2014 we all said Naptional a lot whenever someone complained they were boring. They headlined in 2014 I don't think it would be napping at 1030pm, just sleeping. Oh okay, I am so glad to be in the loop now. I just was there in 2014, and I napped then so I could see the correlation. So is The National attended to more in 2018 then 2014? I tried to get into that album of theirs before 2014, but it has yet to sink in. Well, they did just win the Grammy for best alternative album, so there's that.

Someone 3D print this guy a new larynx Word, though. Both times I've seen them his voice was shot by the end of the set because he just goes all out screaming and shreds his vocal cords.

Ya, Matt does come a little unhinged during the live performances, but that's part of the fun. It's always hard to tell if he's drunk, a little insane, or both, but it's always entertaining. Haha, yeah I guess I kind of like his manic stage presence. I just wanted the board to know it’s okay to not like the National, and apparently I was almost ready to take a ban bullet for it. I forgot, we positive now fam. It's ok. I didn't get them at first either. It wasn't until the lead up to 2014 that I threw on Trouble Will Find Me with just the right amount of wine in my belly thatv it suddenly clicked for me and I got all the feels. They've been one of my favorite bands ever since.

UHHHHH?!!? I'm a very big fan. no one else I've talked to seems to think even remotely so. Everyone else you've talked to is dumb. This is possibly the best lineup for any festival in the country this year.

Went to both shows at the Paramount in (Mr.) November, I forget if it was the first night or second but he was clearly more drunk for one of them I was at the second night and he seemed just the right amount of drunk. I remember being concerned for his safety during Sasquatch 2014 when he started climbing out the sides of the stage and pulling on the big banner things. I was like "This dude's gonna fall down and hurt himself" but I also didn't want him to stop.

I've had Dark Energy on all day. I don't think I need to do any more lineup research.
