Honestly, I had serious FOMO listening to Major Lazer's set from our camp site in 2014 (we had to camp in the parking lot because District 9 was full). It sounded like one hell of a party and I kind of regretted not sticking around for it. Having said that, I just can't come to terms with them headlining the main stage, no matter how big of a party they throw. However, I can't fault someone else from being excited about it, if you're into that kind of thing. As for me, I'll be chilling with Tycho while the dudebros take their shirts off with Diplo.

My wristbands came in today too, and while I didn't get the angelic concierge service that Mutt got, I did get my wristbands and that's what matters. The $20 shipping fee was always bullshit and the smaller envelope does not change that at all.
Side note: It appears they may have scrapped the cashless payment system they started last year. Not a huge loss, but it was kind of handy a couple times.
I am just old enough to have missed the Lolla days. Looking at those lineups I can only imagine how awesome that was. I started going to the Gorge in 99 and have made an effort to go to at least one show at the Gorge every year. I did miss a few years in the mid 2000's.
All of those Lollapalooza Gorge shows were awesome, but '94 was extra special. That experience literally changed my life, plus the lineup was top notch: Green Day (the summer Dookie came out), L7, Nick Cave, Gorge Clinton & The P-Funk All Stars, Beastie Boys, Smashing Pumpkins...
Not sure where to put this, but curiously enough I received my Premier parking pass today. I found it strange that they attached an additional fee to getting the pass outside of the shipping fee for the wristband. It's got me wondering if this shipping the wristbands and other purchases late was a planned ordeal.
Camping passes and wristbands were shipped separately last year too. I wouldn't read too much into it. I think they just come from separate vendors.

38 here. Not quite 40, but pushing it. Did you go to Lollapalooza at the Gorge? Lolla 94 was my first music festival and my first time at the Gorge. Went every year after that until the last one in 98.
Music festivals don't generally deliver wristbands until a month or so before the festival. They have to get the actual wristbands made, and if they send em out too early then there's longer for people to make fakes.
Plus there's always the jackass that puts his or hers on the day it arrives. Shipping them out sooner would mean a longer time that some idiot has to walk around wearing it before the festival.
I wonder if we'll get to hear any of this new Grimes at Sasquatch this year.
Unfortunately looks like no. From her tumblr:
contrary to what some press is saying, I’m not ‘half-way done’ another record, nor will i be playing new music at upcoming shows. Of course im always working on new stuff, but i havent taken even a weekend off in years at this point, and i’ll need to chill when this cycle is over so please don’t set expectations too high.
last time, everyone wanted the visiosn follow up right away and any off-hand comment i made about new material became the weapon by which i was attacked, so to save my self grief i am publicly stating that there is no new music coming any time soon. I really need a break and I intend to take one.
I’m sure this will be referred to as a delay or a lost album or a rant/ screed/ melt down. just fyi, it is none of these things. This is literally nothing besides a ‘clarification’ that new material is not imminent.
