I was sort of on the thought that Pemberton was going to be called off this year, will be interesting to see what they do come up with though. I figured that once Squamish was 3/4 sold out they would pack it in.
We were thinking about going there instead, but the pricing was higher than Squamish to have a decent camp spot and didn't think it was worth the speculation. A Bruno in the hand is worth two in the bush?

Yeah, it is a bit of a setback this year, but it is a yearly trip for a friend and I, was a tough sell to the wives though when we could have gone to Mexico for the same price. The cost is high, but as my one solo trip a year I can deal with it, there was no way we were going to sit in the squallor of the regular camping, it was pretty bad over there last year. Too old for that shit now.
The camping area is the back half of last years glamping area, from the tree line over. It is a camping area for the rest of the year. We will have our own showers etc again and a personal concierge apparently. They said that they are working on other benefits as well, whatever that may be. Will be nice over in the treed area, have a bit of shade and maybe get the hammock set up.
50 is the number, I have been told there will be a bit more than the 15x15 as well.
I'll throw in early on your sticks this year if you do it again, just PM me.

Thanks for the glowsticks last year Davers.
We were torn on where to stay and actually found Yurts at Eagle Vista campground, next to the festival. They have 2 versions, a hotel-like one on their site, which Brand Live take every year, and a few tent only ones, hard sides and a dome top, 16 feet across with a patio. They are reasonably priced too, might be worth checking out if you decide to go.
We ended up going with the vip camping anyways as we wanted to be in the festival grounds and we spend most of the time lounging around the camp site.
I asked them who would be feeding me the grapes and was told that position has yet to be filled.

I heard they will be mailed, like Sasquatch. I think this year would have been alot smoother if only the bands worked. My original GA band never ended up working, at any scanner. I got a vip band on Friday though and that worked like a charm There was also a ticket issue, all the presale and some of the regular home printed tickets didn't get entered in the database properly and therefore wouldn't scan, they had one woman with the ability to manually enter the numbers and give a wristband, between all the people coming through. We were at the parking lot at 11:30 and it took about an hour, the regular camping cars were already lined to the highway though. As far as other organization goes, I think things were pretty smooth, could do with some more garbage and definitely more recycling in the glamping and I assume camping areas. Last year there were alot more bins and things didn't get as messy.

Apparently he walked into one of the side gates in the general camping and got into a tent after the food, then wandered about before being herded out. The organizers had a bear coordinator and team so I think it was well planned for.
I heard there were lots outside the grounds the whole time, drawn by the smells etc. but they generally didn't want to come in.
We left out lots of food as well, and I was watching people throw pans of fat and grease around the perimeter, total bear bait!

Hope you all had a great time! Thanks for the glowsticks Davers, it was awesome throwing/giving all those out.
Apparently a bear got into the general camping area and tore open a tent and generally caused a rucus.
See you next year!

Are any of you folks in the glamping area this year? I will have a BBQ available and beers for anyone who stops by.

Looks like they removed the overlap for the headliners and Madeon/Pretty Lights.

heh, kind of a shitshow now for sure. 500 for 2 regular weekend passes and 2 regular weekend camping passes.
I would like to do it all as a package, but your friend can still buy a camping pass off the website, as of this morning anyways.

Hi Kymess, it's actually regular camping. Looking back to the original first day prices Davers is close to the price. I spent almost 600 as we bought the glamping, sorry for the confusion. I offered the 500 as it's alot less than the current price, I don't think I would consider that scalping, but a mod is free to let me know or remove my posts. It's alot cheaper than current costs though, thought it would be nice to offer to the folks here.
Sorry to cause issues!

The value printed on them is 0.00 as they are comps from a radio contest. I spent $290 x 2 for ours, with the vip camping instead of the regular camping. Really just looking to recoup our costs, but lowered that here. It is still less than they have cost for quite some time and a good deal for those looking to buy tickets currently.
If this is against anything here please let me know and I will delete these posts.
As an aside I would also throw in $20 towards your glowsticks.

I have 2 tickets and 2 regular camping passes I am selling as a set (bought on the first day, then won these ones). I can sell them for $500 and a friendly beer to anyone here if you still need, current price is like $650 or something silly like that. I am in Victoria.

Bunch more camping released, apparently the vip camping area is extended into the crew area from last year. Not sure how far, there were some pretty cool areas back there. Bringing the hammock just in case.

That sounds comfortable, where abouts on the map is the overflow? Off to the right I assume.

I always arrive Friday afternoon-ish and the line has always been about 2 hours and I always end up in overflow camping. Good times. Can't wait to do it again this year! Thanks Womp, Any big drawbacks to overflow? Less party and longer walk I assume, also read you get more space. Anything of note to share?

Sort of what I thought would be the case. I am going to leave Victoria on the 9:00 ferry Friday, so should arrive in the afternoon, I expect to wait a couple hours. Still hoping to go Thursday afternoon. I highly suggest taking an earlier ferry if you are leaving on Friday. Whenever I've taken the 9 I haven't gotten to the Gorge until dark. Of course, I am terminally dilly-dally-y though. Hmmm, that long eh? We will want to stop for food and drink at the least, but should be a straight run from there.... 8 may be possible. Thanks!

I was pretty serious with my guesstimate. We had friends who got in line at roughly 6-7 on friday night and they didn't make it to the festival grounds until after 10:00. Granted that includes some walking time, but you get the picture. Do not underestimate the possibility of an extraordinary amount of traffic on friday night. Sort of what I thought would be the case. I am going to leave Victoria on the 9:00 ferry Friday, so should arrive in the afternoon, I expect to wait a couple hours. Still hoping to go Thursday afternoon.
