For those with past experience w/ Squamish, how quickly does it sell out? And how quickly does camping & "glamping" sell out?
Hard to say this year. Personally, I'd expect sales to be a little slower because it falls on the same weekend as Shambhala (last year there was only a one day cross over), but you never know. Anything can happen. They will be offering a limited number of $99 tickets this Monday for a short period, if you're planning on going you should jump on that.
Just thought I'd throw it out there, if you ever need a replacement manager hit me up. I'm heavily involved in hockey pools, both as a participant and commissioner. I have everything from standard pools to Dynasty teams on the go right now and am always up for more. Very active manager. On a side note, HEY EMPTYFOX- are we in a pool together?? In a Yahoo Fantasy league I am in (Hart's Hat Trick) there is a team with the same name as yours (I think it's yours) "Don't Toews Me Bro"... small world if we are!
1. Primus 2. Sigur Ros 3. Death Grips 4. Elvis Costello 5. Mumford (*Gasp*) 6. Japandroids 7. Father John Misty 8. Rap music (El-P, Schoolboy Q, Earl Sweatshirt, Danny Brown, Killer Mike...Snacks really nailed it this year!) 9. Lumineers 10. Dropkick Murphys ...Wilde Bell, Grimes, Rose Windows, and Tame Impala are sitting at 10a, 10b, 10c, and 10d.
I enjoy premiere camping because of the availability of free hot showers ( I have never waited more than 5 minutes and I find it a good way to "reset" myself for the next round of awesomeness). The Thunder closets are cleaned more often as well.
The spaciousness of the sites is also great because there is less chance of people stumbling through your camp (the obnoxious/incoherent kind of stumbling which leads to falling on or through your tent). Personally I also feel there is less theft. Maybe it's because it's not as crowded so people are not wondering in and out of sites that are not theirs as much(I have a lot of friends who have been ripped off in District 9, although single day tickets could have also attributed to that... or just assholes).
Also, with the camping area being bigger it allows for the ability to walk to a party or to take some space and catch some sleep (I find it a bit quieter). For me however the best part is the shuttle as I have been going with my 2 kids and at 1 a.m. it's nice to catch a ride back to the campsite as they are usually pretty bagged from going so hard all day!
All that being said, if you have never done District 9 then you haven't had the full Sasquatch experience!
