I just tried to post a pic but either I have forgotten how because it's been so long, or my iPhone and the forum links do not work well together. Oh well, it was just some shots I took of Run the Jewels when I saw them a few months back with Weenie. They got me pretty stoked on how soon it is that I'll see them again. On a side note, I'm listening to Fuzz "What's in my Head" and it's just the fuckin bees knees!
With Mutt possibly out now (I'm reading into his last post of having a ticket for sale) this is seeming to be the slimmest BoardSquatch in recent years. I thought I'd revive this thread just to see exactly who out there is a firm "yes", "no", or "for the right price" attendees.
Not this year unfortunately. I have to fly the whole family to a wedding the weekend before Pemberton. Add that to the cost of Sasquatch and I'm near broke. I think I'll be able to score some Rock the Shore tickets since attending a local festival is much cheaper than having to leave the Island to go somewhere but that will be it for my Festival season.
Rock the Shores is surprisingly not-terrible this year whut? They must not have made much dough with their "all the bands you loved in the nineties/aughts" approach last year.
Right?! I'm guessing that RTS had some help getting these artists due to Pemberton possibly booking them...Black Keys, Jane's Addiction, Ed Sharpe and Father John Misty. Speaking of Father John Misty, since he's basically going to be playing 4 blocks from my house, at RTS, I can now remove him off my Sasquatch list and join Burrito at Fuzz for 75 minutes.
Just ordered tickets for Imagination Dragons at the Tacoma Dome in July for my daughter's birthday. All things considered, it could be worse and I should be thankful it's not Justin Bieber, but that still doesn't mean I have to be excited about it. It is going to blow her 12 year old mind, though.
Hahaha, I feel your pain brother. I had to bring my son to Seattle to see Bassnectar for his 10th birthday. I'm not a huge fan of knob twisters and button pushers, but like you said, it definitely could have been worst.
1. Sleater-Kinney 2. Kendrick Lamar 3. Modest Mouse 4. St. Vincent 5. Jose Gonzalez 6. Ought 7. Will Butler 8. The War On Drugs 9. Alvvays 10. Run The Jewels ...I've seen RTJ quite recently and yet they still made my list over a few bands that I'm very excited to see. Honestly, their performance/stage presence is that good!
The more I think about it, the more I believe that the removal of the Sasquatch lineup poster & addition of the big "Buy Tickets Now" link in its place, could be nothing more than another poor choice due to pressure from Live Nation. I'm guessing ticket sales aren't happening as fast as they had hoped. I also noticed that under the description of premiere camping it no longer says "larger sites" on it. I've been a premier camper for a few years now and definitely have noticed the sites shrinking a bit each and every year. Squeeze the people in and sqeeze the money out.
