We're sitting here listening to it, and it's really good, but dude this sounds exactly like Sea Change.
I hear some similarities for sure, but I personally wouldn't go that far. Maybe it will become more apparent as I listen more. I looked at some reviews this afternoon and lots of writers also share your opinion, so I guess I'm part of the minority on the subject. I do really enjoy it though, and I'm happy lots of people seem to like it as well.

If Riff Raff ends up on the lineup I blame beartrap. I'll probably even think beartrap was Riff Raff the whole time shamelessly promoting himself to end up on the festival lineup.
Haha I would take the blame for that.
Honestly though I think he seems like a pretty terrible guy, and I think his music is awful. I used that avatar for so long because being reminded of his existence every day made me feel better about myself as a person.
I've listened to it twice and I think it's pretty good. If you like acoustic/folk Beck you will really like this. Some people are labelling it Sea Change 2.0. I understand the reasoning, but I disagree. I love Sea Change and in my opinion Morning Phase doesn't sound borrowed, I think that Beck has made a really enjoyable album with its own sound and style.

Listening to various Jacques Greene singles and remixes as well. Would love an appearance at Sasquatch, I think it would be incredible in the dance tent. His remix of Autre Ne Veut's "Play by Play" has been my jam lately:
