just a note that stream is brought to you by Humberto Martinez (twitter=piAfterDark) last post: Taking a break lest my shoulder or more importantly, my battery die before the lineup is announced. Very very cool.

as a Canadian, I felt like they really dropped the ball on the torch lighting, who they chose to light the torch, and how they chose to get Gretzky to the actual torch. but the northern lights and the whales were spectacular The whales were spectacular. The stage light show was neat. You guys were in a bad spot, because you had to follow China's opening ceremony from 2008. That shit was crazy. Thats when I realized China is going to be taking over the world in the near future.

In totally unrelated news, has the winter olympics coverage been pretty lackluster. That torch lighting was a little uncomfortable.

From Travis - earcandy:
No word on lineup yet. I was told by a reliable source an announcement will be made between 10 and 10:20 PST. Atlas Sound is on stage now.

Thanks to Drew for keeping his twitter updated for us diehards, even if he doesn't have any actual information. MGMT seems very possible.

MMJ headlining would put on a crazy show complete with some money out of left field covers. And if we can get Them Crooked Vultures playing too I8 owes me a big beer.

Once the line-up gets posted, then we all get to argue about what the schedule is going to look like and who are the late additions. Trust me there will be plenty of bickering on this site for months to come. I want to start a thread entitled "Most ridiculous things said in the rumors/headliners threads" Pity they were erased about two weeks ago, but we could still scavenge some good banter from what followed Yeah, that would have been pretty funny to read, especially after the line-up is posted. My favorite was the post wishing that DJ AM was going to be there.

I would not be surprised if Pavement is pooped. They're a novelty, not a headliner. Come on, no need for that comment. However, I'd kind've rather have Pavement play during the sunset, so this could be good. I still think that Pavement is going to be a headliner, but like you are saying, there would be something special about a Pavement set during the sunset. Its almost poetic.

I for one am going to miss reading all of you interneting interneters arguing about something we have little idea about. It has been a very entertaining last few months! In a way, tonight's announcement is bittersweet because it means saying goodbye to the speculation and guessing game and to all of you! I hope we can all find something to debate in the months leading up to Sasquatch! Maybe stage placements? Enjoy the lineup announcement! It has been tons of fun reading your predictions and rumors!! Once the line-up gets posted, then we all get to argue about what the schedule is going to look like and who are the late additions. Trust me there will be plenty of bickering on this site for months to come.

We should know everything they're going to say by around 11:15. What's this Bonnaroo situation people are mentioning? The Bonnaroo line-up was announced by each band individually throughout the day. Essentially one band every 20 to 30 minutes was released so if you wanted to know the line-up you had to check CoS or Inforoo Board all throughout the day. It was a shitty way to announce a shitty line-up. People kept waiting to hear some big names that never came. It was a fiasco.

I wonder who else got the line-up. The Stranger? Maybe the Seattle Times? Anyone know how to hack into a newspaper website? You gotta figure there is an article with the full line-up waiting to get posted, that is just sitting there in cyberspace. I wonder when during the announcement party they are actually going to release the line-up. My guess would be at the end, after the bands play. So it wont be until 10 or 11 til we get the line-up. typically they announce that the bands playing the party will be at the festival (or each band will say during their set). and in between sets they'll announce like 5 or 6 bands (like two subs and undercards) and then at the end they'll announce the headliners and the rest of the lineup. i'm guessing that, using our friendly insider, we'll know maybe a dozen bands before 11 or 1130 So essentially, tonight is going to be a clusterfuck. ;D

Cos just tweeted: Just got the Sasquatch! 2010 lineup. Will post it when we're allowed, later this evening. Boy, is it good! Then they tweeted, Correction: Really good. Sounds awesome I just posted this on confirmations thread , but here we can speculate more, do you think that means they got soundgarden to headline the monday night after, pavement, to have 3 bonfide headliners. I wonder who else got the line-up. The Stranger? Maybe the Seattle Times? Anyone know how to hack into a newspaper website? You gotta figure there is an article with the full line-up waiting to get posted, that is just sitting there in cyberspace.
