Also looking for a sweet, beautiful, presale code! I can offer a gift of Canadian rye whiskey, some awesome spiced rum, maple syrup, or anything else you would like delivered from Alberta to you at the festival. And my everlasting gratitude!

You know, Said the Whale took a lot of heat on the Sasquatch Facebook page so I decided to investigate this band myself. People were calling them the second worst band on the lineup after Fun. I have been listening to them, and while I think some of their songs are cheesy, some of their stuff is actually pretty decent. I think the singer ruins a lot of their songs but some of the music is actually pretty solid. Wow, actually talking about the lineup feels weird. I feel naked and exposed now. personally I think they are awesome. Their music is catchy and fun, and I see nothing wrong with that. Plus they are really good live.

The luck part I can handle. I have crazy good luck at things that need luck to even have a chance at working. I figured that even though I can't afford premiere camping, others wouldn't mind if I gave them some cash for their unused pass. They could afford it without my help, and random chance has me show up and give them a couple extra bucks for something they aren't using. How does this sound bad for either side? Along with showers I think the shuttle would be nice if I want to run back to my campsite in the middle of the day. I assume that premiere is closer than general, but the shuttle would cut down the time needed considerably. If I go through with it and succeed, I will let you guys know how it goes.

I was thinking of a french press but it has some problems:
glass. I am travelling from edmonton and spending a week afterwards camping, the less breakables the better.
I don't ever see any that allow for more than 3-4 cups of coffee.
time consuming. seems to be a slow way of making coffee to me.

So, do you guys not like people circumventing rules? Or are you considering me a pussy because I want to take a little extra effort to clean myself properly? I was just hoping to know if my idea was feasible. Not really showcasing this grand sense of community by not even letting me know how much effort it would be.

I like showering when staying in a tent with my ladyfriend, generally think it is a good policy.
See how I said I have never been before? How do I know if it is "that much effort"? I have no idea what the set up for getting into premiere is like. Are you saying it is a 4 mile hike where I will cross a glacier and battle a grizzly before having to test my wits in a game of riddles with a horned alligator? I was trying to find out how much trouble it would be. "That much effort" really tells me nothing. Can you help me out and let me know how much effort this would really take? I really don't mind if it means that I lose out on a little bit of drinking/sitting around time.

The biggest advantages to Premier is the showers and the shuttle. What I did last year, since I showed up a day earlier than some of my friends was camp in GC. When they showed up, I hopped in their car and we went thru the checkpoints. They gave us our premier passes. They came around and parked next to me in GC, just outside of the Premier gate. When we would get ready to go in we would just show our wristbands and go into Premier and catch the shuttle. We got to hang out in party central and still get the ride back to the campground. 1 pass is only good for one car and 4 people. haven't been to Sasquatch before, any chance this plan would work: Arrive earlyish on Thursday and pull into GC and set up. Walk over to the Premiere camping lineup and just offer people $$$ or Canadian treats/snacks/novelties to ride into premiere with them and get a pass so I can use the showers and shuttle. Sounds good in my head, but never having been, I don't know the set up of the camping and how well the idea would work.

Sub-channels, got it! One thing that is definitely a downfall is figuring out a good way to charge them. regular battery ones or a converter for your car's cigarette lighter and then just charge them as usual. Make sure to either start the car every now and then to not drain it's battery, take a second replacement battery for when you leave and the car won't start, or bring an emergency battery charger/booster thingy. I think I will be bringing an emergency one for this reason and because I have been boosted many times over the years and am due to pay it forward.

If you pass by an Alberta flag (http://www3.sympatico.ca/goweezer/canada/canpics/zflagalberta.gif) and a silver Mustang (the car) stop by and see if we have coffee! I am trying my best to find a way to make large batches.
I am thinking instead of making a coffee infused bar or snack that I would bring some of those effervescent caffeine tablets and some electrolyte tablets to mix with my drinking water. Seems like the cheapest, lightest, best caffeine delivery system for a festival. Anyone have suggestions on which kinds are good tasting, effective, and preferably cheap?

May be able to help out. We are planning on getting there Thursday and leaving Tuesday morning though. We will be passing through Spokane and would ideally be driving one route to the Gorge and a different route back because we are trying to squeeze in as much new sights as possible on the drive. Also, we have a Mustang, so it won't be terribly roomy. But I will pm you if I can help.

Last year at Coachella gord played a solo set at like 1pm. There were possibly 30 people there, all Canadians. We sang the national anthem. Gord didn't play any Hip songs and people booed. Good times! I am at least 60% sure the girl right on the fence on the far left of the picture is one of the girls I went with! Odd, because I remember standing stage left, but I can't remember if I watched that set with the others or not. I may or may not have had my Alberta flag out at that point. Also, shaxspear, or whomever posted Soda, that is one of my all time favorite songs. And none of my friends seem to know of it. Can we be best friends?

Gord Downie is 100% insane. Saw him at Folk Fest a few years ago under the name "Gord Downie & The Country of Miracles" and it was just a no-holds-barred crazy old man rant fest. The music was fun though. Totally agree on the insane. Disagree on the music. I was stoked to see him and Ben Harper in the same night, was reaaaally disappointed with Downie. gave him a chance to redeem himself at Coachella last year, he did better. He didn't talk so much between songs. Made the event much more enjoyable.

We are planning on heading through the crows nest pass and crossing at Eastport. I have heard on this board that Coutts is a pain, but I had no problems when I went to Coachella last year.
