Yeah, Wonk definitely has a point there, I've just never gotten too into The Cure or Depeche Mode. I've casually listened to both of them and it never did too much, maybe it's because of my age or something. Now if all four bands end up there, I will probably still go see them over the alternatives just because of who they are.
A second follow-up point, I would rather there be a lineup where there are conflicts instead of one where I'm saved the piece of mind of deciding over who to see, because at least then there is still a choice rather than being saved the choice because of a subpar booking. This is a bit of a nit-picky argument, but nonetheless I hope at least neither KOL or Muse are booked, which still seems pretty likely knowing ACL.
I should probably give Depeche Mode and The Cure another listen given their likelihood of being there.

I really hope that Muse and Kings of Leon aren't booked for ACL, they would be pretty disappointing bookings for top spots.

Yeah I went in 2011 and was pretty impressed with how the new grass fared. I only say that because I guess I'm still skeptical how the second weekend might affect it by the Saturday or Sunday. I don't really care either way, I'm going to be there despite the conditions, and if it is sloppy you can go home and rinse up.

I chose weekend 2 for a number of reasons. First, because Stamper is going on weekend two and I want to see him and give him a hard time. Second, because there is a Texas football game on the same weekend as weekend 2 and ACL already offered students the option to trade-in their weekend 2 passes in exchange for weekend 1 passes. I Dr. Garbanzoure it will be slightly easier to get tickets for weekend 2 because of this. That seems like the strongest case for weekend 2, just looked up the game that weekend and it's UT/OU, so lots of people will be out of town for that one. The crowds, especially the younger one (even though I'm a part of it), will probably be under-represented, and that's all the reason to go weekend 2, especially since I probably won't be able to buy a ticket until after they sell out. A torn up Zilker can't be too bad, though I didn't go the year of the rain and the crazy muddiness so I've only dealt with the dust.

The website airbnb.com might offer some reasonable alternatives also.

Yeah it seems ACL will always be behind other festivals from that sort of aspect, so it's weird to think what they might do different or set themselves apart from other festivals now with extra money from adding an additional weekend. I don't think the additional weekend and money will actually change the festival much, the additional weekend is a money incentive, so I guess I'm just curious how much better the line up will be. That week in between must also have a few good smaller shows in town as well.

I'm a newb here that hasn't posted much, but I've lurked for the past few years. I'll be moving back to Austin from Oregon this summer and will likely be going to ACL. I don't really know anyone on the board but I figured I'd chime in since a group of y'all are heading down. Would you recommend weekend 1 or 2 for buying tickets? I figure the park is going to be torn up by weekend 2, and don't see any upside for going that weekend instead of weekend 1, but I'm curious if there may be any upsides to it.

The page's source code shows Cody ChesnuTT to be playing Sunday on the Bigfoot stage.

I can see them adding another artist to go after The Presets, but I think they're still big enough to close out the dance shack that night. Also, that Friday schedule is misleading given that last year we had an EDM artist headlining that night, hence the early dance tent scheduling. There is no way Mathew Dear and Baauer are going to be playing that early in the night, I can see Baaeur playing during Macklemore at least.

I see where you're coming from, but I'm only typing out what I saw. The page source of the line up page has the day and stage listed for every band. The "El Chupacabra" thing could just be a gimmick that doesn't translate over to the festival, but who knows, I included it because it piqued my interest as well. Also, it looks like the Maine stage will be around again this year, they have the stage listed as "Cthulu" instead, and some of the recent hip-hop additions appear to be playing on it. El Chupacabra and Cthulu fit with the mythical creature theme of the festival so I can see it happening, but it could also just mean nothing.

Password worked. Jesus H. Christ though, they only ship to your billing address, no other options. So annoying, any way around this?

I've been a lurker on this board for a couple of years so I only have a couple posts in my history, but if anyone has extra presale codes I would greatly appreciate a PM if at all possible.

This is out of left field, but Hudson Mohawke/TNGHT has been hitting it big recently in Hip-hop/beats and could be a potential banana shacker. Just signed on with G.O.O.D Music and has had a lot of recent success, and although he's not really much of a "trap" artist/dj, that's sorta the new fad, and he fits in with it. Y'all think any trap djs will be at sasquatch?

Kaskade has done collabs with both skrillex and deadmau5 and has been to coachella before. Fits the rave music category like fairowen said. easily well known and big enough for a late night set. Some house music for a little change
