THANKS YOU i've been getting into them this week and they're great Nice! Any particular albums strike you? I am still taking in Painted Ruins to be honest. Usually I would just let it naturally sink in over time but since we will be seeing them in a few months I am forcing the issue a bit haha.

GRIZZLY BEAR Websites: grizzly-bear.net/| en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grizzly_Bear_(band)| www.facebook.com/grizzlybear/Members: *took the instrument info from wikipedia* Ed Droste – lead vocals, keyboards, guitar, omnichord, autoharp (2002–present) Christopher Bear – drums, percussion, glockenspiel, xylophone, keyboard, lap steel guitar, backing vocals (2004–present) Chris Taylor – bass guitar, backing vocals, keyboard, wind instruments, producer (2005–present) Daniel Rossen – lead vocals, guitars, keyboards, autoharp, banjo (2005–present) They are from Brooklyn. Discography: Horn of Plenty (2004) Yellow House (2006) Veckatimest (2009) Shields (2012) Painted Ruins (2017) Sounds Like the Fleet Foxes and Liars had a baby that took a dip in the rabbit hole and after experiencing otherworldly encounters returned to the "real" world with whimsical wisdom. Genre: indie rock? Similar Artists: Fleet Foxes, Sufjan Stevens, Beirut, Beach House (yes and not really to these to be honest haha) Suggested Listinening: Kind of expanding on a shitpost post here but...every album other than Veckatimest took me a while to fully buy in on. When I first heard "Knife" I knew I was in love. Went out and bought Yellow House and was kinda lost with it. I listened to it a few times and then set it aside. Over the course of a year or so I would occasionally put it on. The songs tend to meander and don't really have hooks. They can be dreary and beautiful at the same time. The record should be listened to as a whole in my opinion. This song always leaves an impression on me: The frequency which I was listening to it increased over time (because it is amazing) and then Veckatimest came out. That record seems to have more...hits? At least catchy enough for Peugot to include "Two Weeks" in one of their commercials (making the big bucks fellas!) The record seems more like a pop record. Catchier songs I guess I would say. Instant gratification. They never lose their weirdness despite appealing to a wider spectrum as seen on "Ready, Able". God those vocals are something else. With Shields, that took the same route as Yellow House for me. A much "headier" listen. There is just so much going on in that one it just took more time to digest. This time I knew it was going to click though so there was never a doubt. They let it spaz out a little more. Painted Ruins was the same for me as well. Neither of their past two records made it on my year end list but retroactively they would most definitely be in the top third of each of those years. I've never seen them live but this is going to be amazing at sunset Not sure if they get much more animated during their shows or not but here is something I found from a radio show: Long ramble sorry. Grizzly Bear is special. Their music burrows into you. Hibernates for a while (haha get it? Grizzly Bear? Hibernate?). It is extremely rewarding and beautiful. I have never seen a full set from them and I can't freaking wait for it to happen at the most magical place on earth.

I think the Mars Volta reunion being a late add would fit the general theme of the lineup that Stacks has been going for: "the spirit of the best Sasquatches past" BOOOOOOOOOOO BOOOO YOUR BOOOO FOOO

I would be convinced the Mariners are winning the World Series in 2018 if this is true. That would make my day. The year the M's win the World Series will be the year our headliners are Arcade Fire/Daft Punk/Radiohead I'll let Arcade Fire be there if that means the M's win.

Bon Iver - 22, A Million Bon Iver - S/T Bon Iver - Blood Bank Bon Iver - For Emma, Forever Ago
I gotta say, still not a fan of 22, A Million. I enjoy it more than I did when it came out but I just get kind of bored with it. It feels like it never really gets to where it is trying to go. For Emma is still my favorite. S/T and Blood Bank are great as well. VERY excited for him to make me a believer of the songs from 22, A Million when we get to see him at the gorge though.

Maybe I'll take that little rant and expand on it and make a thread for Grizzly Bear when I get home today.

Yeah dude, I had no idea when Shit Robot ended and James Murphy began because he was in a curtain looking out of a 3x3 window not talking at all. That was $30 or so. I felt dumb for giving him money.

The biggest waste of money I have spent on a show was for a James Murphy DJ set. The one at Neumos was terrible, I grant you. That be the one I witnessed haha. I left and went to get my dance on with Monogamy Party at the chop hahahaha

Altered carbon is pretty damn interesting and worth a watch. It's like a blade runner series. Been debating on starting this one. Might have to tonight.

Right, I agree that saying “well adding (blank) would improve this lineup in this aspect” is a no brainer and it’s phenomenal. I’m just saying since they have late additions, and we’ve seen the likes of Elvis Costello, a Joey Bada$$ late add would be dope. You misspelled James Murphy DJ set The biggest waste of money I have spent on a show was for a James Murphy DJ set.

I watched that Talking Heads movie Pancakes. That was all I needed to get stoked on Byrne. I didn't realize how many of their songs I knew already. Thanks for the tip on where to start!
