How did you guys find Madeon? I'm super pumped to check him out at Coachella
He was really good, kid is super talented. Hard to believe he's opening for SHM at Milton Keynes. Puts on a super fun funky dance party. He does all of his performing live on monomes, and he's damn good.
this is way better than anything girl talk has ever done.
Anyone know where the bros stop and the hipsters begin? I feel like all the stereotypes just sorta blend together..
All the fucking "Bro" and "Hipster" (and "pregnant women") talk is really out of control around here. If you're constantly concerned about being at a festival with stereotypes, frankly I think it's because either a) You don't have the emotional maturity to fathom people with characters outside of the stocks you apply to them or b) You secretly realize that you're a stereotype yourself and pre-emptively combat criticism by lashing out.
So would all you insecure fucks please stop bitching about bro-step and what kind of a crowd certain acts are going to attract and, I don't know, stuff fat dicks in your mouths instead?
This, exactly. Criticize the artist, not the fanbase.
He is lower then many of the banana shack headliners on the coachella poster. It is all about the light show that he just started using. Even if you guys do guess it I still can't tell you just so you know.
My guess would be Zedd then, which is a little weird. I would think there should be a little stricter criteria for a coveted slot like that other than just "a sick light show".
He fits the criteria other than I'd be surprised if fairowen would have to look him up to see who he is. That said, he's had a meteoric rise, opened for Deadmau5, and his "Cell" tour setup has lots of people shitting their pants.
Ketchup - My guess is they're substituting "rave Friday" for electro late-night acts. No biggie though, the dance tent will be poopin!
Do you think that entails a nixing of late night sets altogether, or that Roots/EITS/Mogwai will get to step up to that plate?
And fuck me, electro Friday will be a shiiiiiitshow. I made the questionable decision of going to Identity festival at the Gorge last year, which featured Pretty Lights on the mainstage. It was so littered with lumbering fratboys and screaming sluts that I felt like I was cheating on Sasquatch with Tara Reid. It was dirty, but a good dirty. I suspect Friday will be very similar.

We're about 40 pages ahead of where I finally passed out last night so forgive me if this has been discussed already, but what's up with the late night sets? I assumed when I saw the lineup that it would be Nero and Beats Antique, but the site says they're both in the shack. Does that mean the late night sets are going to be EITS, The Roots, and Mogwai?
Supposed leaked partial lineup from a comment on know's blog:
Bon Iver/ Deadmau5/ Pulp/ Drake/ The Shins/Jack White/ Beirut/ The Head and The Heart/ Kraftwerk/ Pretty Lights/ Refused/ M83/At The Drive In/Skrillex/ Fucked Up/Girl Talk/St. Vincent/Yeasayer/ Beirut/Major Lazer/ chune-yArDs/ Washed Out/ Spiritualized/ Jamey Johnson/Flying Lotus/ Minus The Bear/ Bombay Bicycle Club/ A$AP Rocky/ Two Door Cinema Club/ Apparat/Young The Giant/ White Denim/ Dj Anjali & The Incredible Kid/ Active Child/ Com Truise/City & Colour/ Wolfgang Gartner/Dyme Def/ Das Racist/ Said The Whale/ Black Whales/ Araabmuzik/ Villagers/ Star Slinger/ Grynch/ SPAC3MAN/ Purity Ring/ Sol/ Nobody BeatsThe Drum/ THEESatisfaction/ Tycho/ Fatal Lucciano/ Fly Moon Royalty/ Dragonette/ Todd Barry/ Rob Delaney/ Pete Holmes/ Bo Burnham
not a chance. other than a litany of other irregularities that make it fake, beirut is on there twice. kraftwerk late night would be amazing though.
You saw the Flaming Lips and didn't expect Wayne to talk that much? Someone really isn't familiar with them lately. Wayne loves the sound of his voice. It's like going to an unfunny NOFX concert. At least when Fat Mike talks he's just verbally abusing idiots in the crowd and making stupid jokes. Wayne Coyne just won't shut up, ever. I'm glad I didn't see them last year, Gayngs was totally worth it.
GAYNGS were really fucking awesome.
Holy crap, weren't they? Plus the crowd was tiny which made it even more intimate. I hope they stick around for a while.
MSTRKRFT>every other banana shack performance that weekend.
Glitch Mob/Sleigh Bells was the show stealer in the Shack!! Indeed I had fun at every late night shack show, but that 2.5 hour period was the highlight of my Sasquatch last year. Brought my cousin, a cancer survivor, to her first Sas and she LOVES to dance. She was putting on such a show the crowd opened up to give her room and at the end some huge dude hoisted her up on his shoulders for the duration of the set.
She is a very small, kind of fragile, shy, quiet person. She had never been to anything remotely like Sasquatch, she really blossomed there. If at any point you heard a tiny person scream 'THE DANCE TENT IS GOD' It may well have been her.
agreed on sleigh bells, that was fucking awesome. glitch mob i'm completely indifferent to, but yes, that was one rowdy 2 and a half hours.
