I see no reason to think that it is going to be Eminem. That article is a puff piece. I wouldn't even be shocked if that tweet originated from something on this board or the Coachella board. It wouldn't be the first time that's happened. A few tweets and people are all a twitter about it (that wasn't even intentional, I swear).
Honestly Outkast is more likely. Those guys are everywhere this summer and as far as I can tell they aren't going to Europe any time soon. I'd be shocked if the don't do Osheaga in Montreal (Aug 1-3), then all they have to do is party for a few days then catch a flight to Vancouver.
We find out in 2 days, at which point Pemberton has to nut up or shut up.

Neko Case is playing Missoula May 21 and Portland the 22nd, so she is pretty much a given. Hopefully the New Pornographers are on the bill as well. Regarding the 'presale', that's a good point. It doesn't seem like there is a limit to the amount of tickets that will be sold during that time and it's probably a major reason it officially sold out so fast last year. Definitely get on that if you can.

I said generally, and I could be wrong. Generally most people I meet that claim to be huge tool/nin fans are very into moshing annd such. There's nothing wrong with that, I mosh from time to time, but it doesn't really fit in with the whole Sasquatch vibe.
Liike Cy siad though, their fanbase may be different now, so I could just be talking out of my ass, which happens a lot.

If it really was NIN and Tool that would probably draw one of the worst Sasquatch crowds ever. Don't geet me wrong, NIN + Tool would be amazing, but their fans are generaly not my favourite people in the world.

I totally forgot about posting the reviews to the rest of my beer case...
Day 16: Slipstream Cream Ale, 5%
Not much smell. A bit of grains. Tastes faintly of barley and yeast. Pretty weak tasting overall. Not offensive, but not much to enjoy either
6/10
Day 17: Rural Brewers Brown Brew, 5%
Nice toasty grains smell. Hints of roasted marshmallows? Rich yet mild flavours. Easy drinking, short finish. Good brown ale.
8/10
Day 18: Twisted Oak Stillage Barrel Reserve Rye Barrel Aged Bock, 6.8%
Molasses, oakey, vanilla. Herbal spices. Mead. Honey. Very thick.
8/10
Day 19; Skookum Cascadian Brown Ale, 6.5%
Full of flavour. Very malty, big hops punch. Brown sugar. Really good. A bit on the heavy side for drinking a lot of, but I could enjoy a 6 pack of this quite easily.
8.5/10
Day 20: Blue Buck, 5%
Light malt flavours. A bit nutty and chocolatey. Easy drinking and simple, but not much to get excited about. I drink this stuff a lot and now that I'm paying attention I realize it isn't anything interesting. Just crisp and refreshing. Honestly if I was drinking a lot I'd probably take the elisinor.
7/10
Day 21: Twisted Oak Stillage Barrel Reserve Scotch Ale 6.8%
Sweet maple syrup. Very thick. A touch salty. Brown sugar, honey roasted peanuts. Malty dry finish.
8/10
Day 22: Hammer Barrel Aged Imperial Stout 8.3%
At first I thought they screwed up and put another of the day 6, but this one is the same as day 6 with the exception that it is barrel aged. Let's see if it makes any difference.
Very little smell again. Chocolate, dark roasted malt. Thick and syrupy. Coffee. Somewhat stronger amount of oak, but it's tough to tell 2 weeks apart. It seems a bit smoother than day 6, but overall pretty damn close.
7.5/10
Day 23: Cabin Fever Imperial Black IPA, 8.5%
A lot like yesterdays, but with hops. Makes sense I guess. Dark roasted malt, chocolate, coffee. Citrus and fruity hops. Interesting balance, I think I like it. Starts like a stout and finishes like an IPA.
9/10
Day 24: Twisted Oak Stillage Barrel Reserve Rum Barrel Aged Red Ale, 6.8%
First time I've ever had a rum aged beer. Should be interesting. Very sweet and a bit oaky. Tastes familiar, but I can't put my finger on it. Cherry, light malt, vanilla. Almost like a winter ale actually. Light milk chocolate, cinnamon. Silky smooth.
Well, I think they may have saved the best for last. Too sweet to drink a bunch of, but its damn near perfect to drink on a winter night. Lightly coats your mouth like melted milk chocolate and leaves vanilla lingering.
9.5/10
Started drinking rum and eggnog after, could hardly tell the difference.

Unless Julysquatch has Tool or something it is going to flop hard. Lots of people are going to pick just one, and they'll pick the one with Outkast and temperatures that are within the survivable range. What if Snacks throws money at the problem? I know they're playing in August, but Arcade Fire have virtually nothing going on in July (though yeah, probably won't happen). I think the added money and subtraction of a day (and maybe taking advantage of surplus from Maysquatch?) could help them drag in something big. Unless Julysquatch has Tool or something it is going to flop hard. Lots of people are going to pick just one, and they'll pick the one with Outkast and temperatures that are within the survivable range. He is a businessman, and knows he has to come through on this, so I don't expect him to drop the ball too bad. I just hope his big move isn't just some big radio artist like Mumford or Macklmore again. I am hoping that they still have a discounted double weekend option. If so, those will last a little longer than the single weekend ones. I think Maysquatch is going to sell fast regardless. You guys sure have a lot of faith. 2013 sold out in record time, but 2012 took months. I think 2013 was the first Sasquatch for a lot of people because they wanted to see Macklemore and Mumford. If there isn't something with as much of a draw at both Sasquatches this year I'm not expecting tickets to go very quickly. Sasquatch doesn't have the dedicated fanbase that Coachella and Bonnaroo have, if the lineups aren't great there's a chance they might not sell out at all.

I should probably listen to their new album. I actually liked Congratulations a lot and this album seems to be getting the same reaction.

I'm the biggest Kanye Stan on here but I won't completely defend him here. He refused to play until dark because he was doing his big Glow in the Dark production. That's semi defensible but I think he also refused to play on any stage other than the main stage which meant he had to wait till Pearl Jam ended to set up. Obviously Pearl Jam did their whole 3 hour show thing and didn't get off the stage until midnight. He then refused to play until everything was perfect which took 3 hours. Basically, he acted exactly like you would expect him to. That said, the fact that people still complain about it is ridiculous. People still complain about Mars Volta too.

The asshole hierarchy is as follows:
1. People who buy tickets with no intention of going and sell them for more money. Fuck those people.
2. People who buy tickets with the intention of going but then can't. They sell the tickets for more than face because they can. Misguided, but they aren't the devil.
3. The guys who buy and sell extras outside the venue to make money.
I have no issue with the third. In my experience, they show up with no tickets and try to buy peoples extras. Most of the time they don't even know who's playing. They know there are extra tickets, they speak up, make themselves known and make some money. It's like a consignment store. If I'm too lazy to sell my couch I can bring it to a store, they sell it and keep part of the money. I could have sold it on craigslist myself but fuck that, I'm lazy.
Someone can be #1 AND #3, in which case, fuck those people.

He was super late right? My friend went and said she fell asleep in the field waiting for him to come on. Eventually he did at 3am or some stupid shit. I get that they have no noise curfew there, but that's still pretty fucking stupid.
Disclaimer: I have no idea why he was so late, it could have been totally out of his control in which case, what can ya do.

You know what else is fucked up? If I have an extra ticket I'll bring it and try to sell it at the venue for face, and sometimes those scalpers try to negotiate, and I know the fuckers are just going to sell it to some kid for more money. Those guys are totally different and I really don't have an issue with them at all. My friend had an extra ticket to a show, the usual scalper dude was standing outside and said he would give my friend $20 for the $40 ticket. The show wasn't sold out so he would have to sell it for less than $40. My friend said nope, waited 5 minutes for someone to go buy one from the box office and offered it to her for $30. She saved money, my friend got most of his money back and we all win. If my friend didn't want to wait, he had the option of selling it right away and losing some money. As far as I'm concerned those guys are providing a service. They show up at shows without tickets (for this example anyway) buy the extras floating around and sell them for more. Nothing is stopping anyone from holding up their hand and saying "I have an extra ticket! Would anyone like to buy it?" But they don't because they want to go into the show and don't have the patience to try and sell it. The buyers can do the same thing, I bought a ticket right in front of one of those scalper dudes, because I saw someone was going to sell a ticket to him for $25, so I offered her $30. He would have turned around and probably tried to get $40 for it, but I beat him to it. Those guys just make money off the lazy, I don't think what they are doing is immoral at all.

I made zero claims about the morality of scalping tickets. I don't scalp tickets and with a few exceptions like paying $30 for a $26 ticket, I don't buy them either.
And you have to say his name 3 times for him to show up.

Cars are not a good comparison to selling a ticket to an event. Technically prices of motor vehicles vary depending on many factors. If that car was never driven it would be worth more, but still you are selling it for a fraction of what it was originally purchased for. 1. If I buy an iPod and it's in the box, but for some reason I can not use it, is it ok to sell it for more money because it was the last iPod that store had? 2. Better yet I just bought the last hot dog from a hotdog stand for $2.00, and the vendor tells me it's the last hotdog, so is it cool to stand there and try to sell that hotdog for $4.00 because I'm not really that hungry anyway and somebody might be hungry enough to pay double the price? 3. When you are selling something out of the box for more money than it is worth that makes you a horrible person. 4. I'm sure you had invested more money in your car than you had sold it for. People rarely make money off of cars, houses, etc without putting time and/or money into them. Without modification or maintenance any goods depreciate in value. It's been a while since we've had a good board argument. 1. Totally. If someone is willing to pay that for an ipod then obviously it is worth more to them. The store will get more ipods and some point, but if he wants it right away and is willing to pay extra to get it right away then you have the right to sell it to him. 2. Again, why not? This is a pretty gross example and obviously wouldn't happen in real life, but it's totally reasonable. There are other stores that sell food, but if someone wants that hot dog right away, they can pay extra for it. The difference between these things and scalping tickets is that there is a finite amount of tickets to a concert, but there is pretty much an infinite amount of ipods and hot dogs. 3. Why? It's supply and demand. It's a huge part of the free market economy. If I buy stocks in a company, and I sell them after they go up in value, am I a horrible person? I haven't done anything to the stocks to make them better, the company just happened to do well. People do this with all sorts of things. Go to a garage sale, find something special and then sell it for more. Buy some Pokémon cards (holy shit the autocorrect put the line over the 'e', of all the things to teach auto correct, Pokémon was on the list) and sell them for more, the list goes on. You can lose money doing this too. The same thing could have happened with the above ipod or hot dog. 4. Where I live people have been making shit tons of money off houses in the last decade. Property was rising 10-20% per year for a long time. It sucks for me because even though I have a pretty good job I can't afford anything decent in the city. Some people treat homes like investments and it makes home ownership very hard for young families. I think it's wrong, but what can I do about it? In all of these cases the buyer knew what he/she was buying and decided it was worth it anyway. The buyer is just as much to blame as the seller. If no one will pay above face value for tickets, then no one can sell them for over face value. Tickets become essentially worthless after the concert, so really the buyer is in the driver seat. Making concert goers in general more educated on this is probably going to be a lot more effective in curbing scalping than bitching out each individual on the internet. It sucks to see people get taken advantage of because they really want to see a show, but at the same time they are perpetuating scalping by paying that price. Sometimes there are more people that want to see a show than there are tickets to said show. Such is life. The people paying attention will get tickets, and unless people stop paying scalper prices, the rich get the rest.

Darkside was great. I hope they play at night in the Gobi or something.
I was mostly sober and couldn't see shit (small club with a low stage) and I still loved it. Everyone add them to your lists if they aren't there already.
