Surfer Blood was more chill than surf-fun last time they were here (at the Bigfoot). I Think the best re-creation of that Chromeo afternoon show would be Capital Cities (Monday). Perfect sounding music for this thing - hopefully they'll be at the main stage!
OK so I know that Imagine Dragons are one of those -'fun.'- like bands that people make fun of BUT i think they would be great for Sasquatch. Their sound seems like something for the gorge, and I would rather have them than another Cold War Kids episode.
They aren't playing a Seattle show in their spring tour and have a huge gap at in May, so I think it's likely.
St. Vincent was so so good. I brought a friend who had never heard of her and she was so impressed after the first song that we stayed for most of the set. DAMN that St Vincent/Wolfgang/Jack White conflict!! I want to see each of those shows one after another!
I was wondering about that set. He is clearly headlining the dance tent that night, so I would expect it to be amazing, due to his musical geniusness in general. But has anyone seen JM or Special Disco Version before? Just wondering what I can tell people, other than "It's awesome disco, don't worry about it, you have to come!"
Definitely Pretty Lights, Nero, Wolfgang Gartner and Feed Me are the big EDM acts this year. I think we can say hands down that PL should be the glowpocalypse simply because he is playing on the main stage, and there has been no equivalent to this in past years. The others aren't as novel in terms of timeslots. Nero will be like the Skrillex of last year, Wolfgang like MSTRKRFT, and Feed Me like Bassnectar. They will all be a huge party no doubt!
I love the new album! I thought the same as Geno when I first heard it, but it doesn't take too many more listens to realize that all of the songs are great with classic Shins melodies and smart lyrics. I think their show is gonna be awesome.

So far I've been pretty spoiled by Sasquatch with my most favourite artists - it's true that them being there has had a large impact on what turned out to be my favourites anyways though. Point is, I love Sasquatch! I couldn't imagine a year going by without the 5 months of anticipation and music gathering that goes with it, along with the afterglow that lasts all summer. These boards play a big part in that for sure.
