I was standing at a bus stop smoking a cigarette a couple of weeks ago. A woman in her fifties came up to the bus stop and stood five feet downwind from me. Trying to be polite, I moved five feet downwind of her so I wouldn't be huffing acrid lungsmoke into her face. As if trying to prove a point, she then moved again -- back to five feet downwind of me. Then she started bitching at me for smoking. I told her that I was obviously trying not to smoke at her, and then I told her this: If you're going to have a bitchfit every fucking time you walk past a person smoking on the sidewalk, you are going to have a very long and unhappy life.My point, in this context, being this: if you're going to take it as a personal attack every time someone talks shit about a band you like, be prepared to feel like you are under siege at all fucking times. I didn't call you a fucking plebian, cheese. All I have said is that I don't like Arcade Fire, and -- ostensibly more interesting, even to a fan -- I have said why I don't like Arcade Fire. If that's not why we're here, then I don't fucking know why we're here (READ: that's why we're here and if that's not why YOU'RE here, you can fuck off). If I was talking shit to you personally, I can guaran-fucking-a-frog-on-a-cracker-tee that there wouldn't be any ambiguity about it. You would know. I am also entirely certain that if you spent half as much time listening to the music that I enjoy as I have spent listening to the bullshit that you listen to all day, you'd hate it at least as much as I hate Arcade Fire. I imagine you'd have something to say about it, too, and I would welcome that. If you want to sit around with a group of people that just wants to jack each other off while they congratulate each other on how much they all like Arcade Fire, then go here: forums.arcadefire.net/ Otherwise, stop quoting your history 101 textbook at me and grow another layer of skin. My apologies, my intent was not to put words in your mouth or to insinuate that you were personally attacking me. You are more than right that you have made your opinions on that specific band very clear. Maybe it is my general lack of intelligence that makes me speak in a self-deprecating nature, and it comes off like I am taking offense to a difference of opinion. My intention with that comment was just to bring focus back to the idea that the great thing about music festivals is that we don't all have to focus on the bands or groups that we don't like, because there are plenty of other activities/bands/dj's performing elsewhere so in effect there is something for everyone to enjoy. That is what my post was trying to highlight, the fun part of coming back together after the festival and talking about who saw what and getting everyone's take on the weekend because there are tens of thousands of stories that can be shared and they are all different. I probably should step back and lurk more because I feel like I truly am not smart enough to converse with you and some of the others here because I am always either annoying someone or saying something that is unclear and perceived as being butt hurt about being attacked or making a comment that is attacking in nature. I now understand more than ever that during the offseason this forum is a gathering point for a small group of friends and due to actions of my own I am only on the outside looking in and that I should step back until we get closer to the pre-sale and the time lineup news starts coming out and more people start to in. Thanks for taking the time to educate me and to clarify your opinions and I never meant any disrespect to you or anyone else who posts here.

Well that is the beauty of Sasquatch, all of us plebs without a thought in our heads can go watch Arcade Fire, if they are even booked since we are still talking in hypotheticals, and you and the other patricians can go watch whatever is booked at the Bigfoot or Dance Tent. Then we call all argue about how stupid we all are after the festival, as is tradition.

I'd have to agree that Arcade Fire will definitely be a headlining machine next festival circuit, which increases their Sasquatch chances. I know people here hate them, but I'd personally love that having never seen them. Arcade Fire are great, their show in 2005 is still one of my favorite Sasquatch experiences. Their new songs are really solid, and I would love to see them at the Gorge again.

These New Puritans (Have a new album, never have done sasquatch) The Naked and Famous (New Album, haven't performed since their first record came out) Man Man (Great new album, long overdue for their fist sasquatch performance) The Front Bottoms (Excellent new album, they have a lot of hype behind them right now) Crystal fi-ghters (Lesser known band would be great for early morning mainstage or mid afternoon on a smaller stage) Blue Hawaii (Would be a great fit considering the past couple years of the Purity Ring, CHVRCHES style acts) Anamanaguchi (Just release a new album, would be a great dance tent act.) That would be a lot of fun. I am in full support of this. I know I said this already but to reiterate: Cut Copy (New album on the way, skipping Seattle on their tour, also they would be a blast) Hot Chip (New single opens the possibility of a new album on the way, can't remember the last time they were in the PNW) YACHT (Rumors of a new album in 2014, perfect festival band) Actually probably just any DFA artist. That Holy Ghost! set was amazing. Great choices, all three are high on my list of must see acts. I have been championing for Hot Chip for a couple years now, I feel like they are loooong overdue.

Well that makes more sense. It didn't seem like something you'd say with a mean spirit, but it was hard to read it in a different light. P.S. What happened to your profile picture? That default picture is a horrible thing. I deleted it because I felt that the animated gif was too loud, and I do a good enough job annoying people here that I didn't need to have an avatar that annoys people further.

I mean, if you complain about friends on a message board talking about things they do/do not like, maybe you're in the wrong place. That's basically all this forum is for. I should have clarified that I was talking about general themes, not complaining about the conversation or people here. I'm not the brightest and my intention was not to offend, it was just to add a bit of commentary about the general themes of the feelings of the shows. It was uncalled for and unneeded, I understand that now.

Dexter finale was fucking idiotic. Couldn't even deliver the extremely few things that I required of it. I wish to god I'd had the sense to stop watching that shit years ago. My one consolation is that I'll never have to watch an extreme close-up of Michel C. Hall eating ham again. God, fuck that stupid-ass show right in the ear. Why the hell was Masuka's daughter in this season? To reach Showtime's nudity quota.

Haha I could wager a guess. If you mean me, you would be wrong. I know I am a moron, being told that I am just reaffirms belief in myself. Wonk was really just doing me a favor.

Listening to Bowie doesn't make us old. NOT listening to Bowie make you ignorant. I'm more of a moron than ignorant. Him, NIN, and Prince just don't do anything for me. I'll just go back to listening to babby's first indie band, and leave the grownups to their serious time.

On Oni Pond is so ridiculously good. I love me some plate-smashin' Man Man chunes, but the more melodic doo-woppy shit really does it for me. Fully agree. Head On is spectacular.
